Achilles. Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Great title! Glad to have this tea, I was beginning to wonder if she went back to the drawing board after Float deservedly bombed.

sunbathinganimal Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) amazing title Edited April 28, 2023 by sunbathinganimal
kandicha Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Yessss It has been too long since her last album, I’m so excited!
liver Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 praying that it's nothing like her the stuff she's been putting out since 2018
4Walls Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Kinda worried tbh. Janelle has been pushing Float like CRAZYYYY so I have a feeling it’ll be on the album but idk and if Float is anything to go by…..lord
Jtyoung Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Perched. Let me finally dust off her book and read it.
Ewan Chaos Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Great title. I'm perched even though Float was really meh. But if it's on there and the worst song of them all that's fine
Rotunda Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) Honestly there’s a lot of stuff that could work alongside the sonics of Float. It isn’t even that far off from Dirty Computer. With some tweaks it could go between Screwed and Django Jane, or somewhere in the I Got The Juice - I Like That - Don’t Judge Me run. The bigger issue is that it’s lyrically weak and just a boring lead. Edited April 28, 2023 by Rotunda
Kool_Aid_King Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I'm here for a concept album as queen always serves.
Walley Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Float completely destroyed the value of her music. Such a dud of a song. I’ve loved everything else by her so I have a little hope left.

I’m so confused why people think it’s different.
pinkbowvintage Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) Can't wait!! Her last album was everything. Edited April 30, 2023 by pinkbowvintage
worldwide angel Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 a little part of me hopes that this is an addition to the archandroid musical universe
Pop Life Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) I feel like she's been gradually watering down her sound with each album post ArchAndroid. On the one hand it makes her more accessible and she has the talent to be engaging regardless of what she does, but what really made her special for me were her high concepts and dense/abstract soundscapes. I fear we'll never get to experience musical odysseys like BabopbyeYa again Edited April 30, 2023 by Pop Life

I fear we'll never get to experience musical odysseys like BabopbyeYa again even Dirty Computa is boring and lifeless compared to Metropolis/ArchAndroid/Electric Lady... I know artists evolve but I really want her to return to that concept so bad...
