That was fast :clap3:

Although the OG Red is still superior to the re-recording.

And to say a lot of people said she was wasting her time re-recording her old albums :clap3:

I remember when people laughed trying to say she would flop with these when in reality it gave her a repeak :rip: Clowns

I don’t think she’s wasting her time necessarily, but it’s 100% a cash grab. If the goal is money, she’s achieving it (and good for her, we stan a capitalist queen). But it’s not really doing anything to add to her legacy

Congratulations to Taylor.

You have to be kidding, right? This is doing WONDERS to her legacy in more ways than one :deadbanana2: Not only is it allowing her to go down in history over her fight for music ownership, but it's also giving a completely new life to all her old material with many songs being rediscovered and appreciated more than ever in the process. So many people never heard Red and Fearless completely before the re-recordings. This has been incredibly helpful to cement her catalogue as one of the greatest, most valuable and most appreciated of all time sis :deadbanana2:

lol what are you talking about? the re-recordings being as successful as they are is adding to her legacy. apart from it being a bold move, a lot more new artists own their masters now.

Not sure why, the TVs that I’ve listened to on Spotify are vastly inferior to the originals in every possible way.

Clearly the Swifties don’t value fidelity in their audio.

Re-recordings are massively helping re-introduce her catalog into streaming and it reaching new younger audiences

People with 15/14 years old weren't alive when "Fifteen" was released and now they can listen to "Fifteen (Taylor's Version)" as a "new" track :chick2:

I think they have a huge impact on fans but casual listeners don’t even know they exist for the most part or are familiar with the old cover art and still select it when streaming. I don’t think they’re hurting anything either though. It’s not meant to be an attack on her or anything

Sure can be. I think her Eras tour is doing MUCH more to cement her status than rereleasing old albums with mostly imperceptible differences to anyone who isn’t already a stan. People are impressed af at a 3 hr plus tour. They’ve already heard her old stuff so are only really invested in the rereleases if they know the story behind why she re-recorded them and most people don’t pay attention to that

I agree, it seemed like she was gonna drop them all quickly, but then realised she can get them all grammy nominated and high first week numbers by spreading out the releases which is smart.
