Quote

Mickey 7, the inspiration behind the film, tells the story of the character Mickey7. He is an outcast, downtrodden, disposable employee of a semi-dystopian corporation. While Mickey himself isn't disposable, his current physical body is; each time an employee dies, a new body is regenerated with most of the original person's memories intact. Therefore, Mickey7, the protagonist of the novel, is the seventh iteration of his original form. In a way, the workers are immortal in a very fractured way. Mickey1 and other coworkers are tasked with colonizing the ice world Niflheim.

I’m sure it’s gonna be a masterpiece and I’m all here for Rob to snatch his first overdue Oscar nom/win with this, but it’s once again more or less the same themes of Bong’s last 3 movies (social division, exploitation of the poor, capitalism). Can’t we have a good ole’ serial killer crime thriller or something?

there's nothing really happening to a movie THIS close before the premiere date except test screenings. and no new date, just "delayed"... it tanked

The premise sounded very promising though, sigh.

OK, in the Wikipedia article on the movie, it has been taken off the schedule due to the SAG-AFTRA strike last year and delays in post-production. Well, here's to hoping that it's not because the movie was underwhelming.

Once Dune 2 got pushed to March 2024 it was pretty obvious this was getting pushed too. It is still weird to have not heard a peep since 2022
