fountain Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Channel 5 did a pretty good job overall, but people were still somewhat disappointed in comparison to Channel 4. Channel 4 era is definitely seen as the heyday, whereas Channel 5 was less watched and seen as having more contrived influencer / wannabe types, but still some great seasons, in particular the Celebrity ones. That’s in part why people are really hoping for a back to basics return from ITV, with diverse and memorable average citizens as housemates. Which I do think and hope they will deliver because there is really no point in attempting anything else, 1. It’s not what the viewers want, and 2. They already have Love Island for that and having two shows with the same formula would just be stupid. Hoping the producers deliver! 1

It wouldn't feel like BBUK without the public vote. The Australian version tried switching to the BBUS format, and that didn't really bring in more viewers for them. I hope the UK viewers go back to serving taste because most of the C5 winners were not it. Isabelle from BB18 should be the blueprint for the new girlies. "Role model to your son tho " is still iconic. <3 1

fountain Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 They won’t change the voting format, and it would be a horrible idea to do so. That latest I’m a Celebrity season (also ITV) had no public vote, the viewers HATED it and the ratings tanked. It’s just not what the UK wants.

Dream Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Channel 5 did a great job with the celebrity editions but they never pulled off the civilian edition like Channel 4 did tbh.
