Solaria Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Really, we really returning to latin music this fast? Bad Bunny hasn't even declined in popularity yet!
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted April 18, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted April 18, 2023 I love seeing this smash
pride4jc1222 Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 I wish my Cancun vacation was right now, while Peso Pluma is smashing. When I was in Cancun in mid-January, they played Sure Thing and In Ha Mood once (and of course, Flowers repetitively). I'm pretty sure I would have heard Ella Baila Sola and several more Peso Pluma songs.

He's been getting hit after hit in Mexico so I wouldn't go as far in here. The way he popped out of nowhere in the US is suspicious tho, since I don't recall him making noise in there, but I guess his last hits and the Tiktok algorithm really helped him
Littlejfrey Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 When I first saw this I got so excited to see them having a comeback after all these years... only to found out this has nothing to do with the iconic spanish group

Bethenny Frankel Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Never heard of this before now, but it's a cute song. It's great to see songs in Spanish having success!
UnusualBoy Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 I kinda like the song but I'm surprised by how well is doing in US, so unexpected.
Chemist Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 The Latin takeover of the US is officially complete I fear

Selenasworld Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 also doing Bad Bunny numbers, realistically he could be topping anyone but Taylor.

305 Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Don't understand the hype at all, its really nothing special
Ms. Togekiss Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 I really don’t understand the appeal for this type of music
Rosenda Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 (edited) The song is awful, la bebe >>>> 10 hours ago, BrokenMachine said: He's been getting hit after hit in Mexico so I wouldn't go as far in here. In Mexico he's had several hits in the last months, but in the US he only rose to stardom in the last few weeks out of nowhere, mostly thanks to TikTok
James_XL Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Why is the US making latin songs a hit when they're not even a hit in Latin America? Smells planty to me. Especially when there are actual great latin songs charting high in Latam nowhere to be found in the US.

Especially when there are actual great latin songs charting high in Latam nowhere to be found in the US. Regional Mexican music is not as popular in Latin America as reggaeton or Bachata. It is a very niche genre with strong roots in Mexican culture, but it still has a sizable audience in the US Despite this, it has managed to reach the number #1 in 9 LatAm countries countries and is gaining popularity in Argentina and Spain it seems quite organic Spotify (9x #1): #1 Colombia #1 Costa Rica #1 El Salvador #1 Guatemala #1 Honduras #1 Mexico #1 Nicaragua #1 Panama #75 Argentina (+25) #98 Spain (+28)
pride4jc1222 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 With everything going on in the world today, I’m just glad that it’s Peso Pluma getting this success here in the US. It could be a lot worse. Just imagine if instead of Peso Pluma, this was Donald Trump & the J6 Rioters invading the charts like this.
