This reminds me of the american remake of the dutch 80s classic "Spurloos". Completely negelected the ending as the ultimate - if bleak - pointe.

You won't miss nothing but Sandy Bullock and a hissy fit.

I am…shocked by the critical reception of this. I thought it was gonna be a disaster lol. I heard they've changed the ending completely so I'm kinda excited to watch it now.

I lowkey loved this. They definitely made some stupid decisions but whatever, I was very happy with the ending and I really enjoyed this. I saw the OG 2 years ago and I think it's on par with it tbh, hopefully that's not blasphemous but it's my truth!

I'll give this movie a chance. The original was very good but I hated the ending….

James McAvoy carries this movie hard. He's just so… :jonny5:

I'm gonna be honest, loved it, James McAvoy is such a good looking man and an amazing actor :smitten:, but I actually preferred the ending of the original one, call me a miserable bastard, just preferred the original ending. Very similar the way it was all shot and remade. My heart rate was definitely through the roof for sure at some bits.

Spoiler

I'm more annoyed about the fact that it had to be spelt out for the audience, the fact that Ant had to show Agnes what they were doing instead of when Bjørn found out for himself in the original and then the couple having already killed Abel in the OG Danish one, rather than attempting to kill Ant in the remake. I preferred the original's ending where they cut out Agnes's tongue and then killed the couple at the end by stoning them to death.

This is genuinely one of the funniest movies of the year, the writing alone :lmao:

James McAvoy was great as was MacKenzie Davis. Ben (Scoot McNairy) is genuinely one of the dumbest characters in film I've ever seen :deadbanana4:

Perfect ending though :clap3:

Spoiler

So glad the kid got to kill him,  he has so much trauma he'll never unsee :deadbanana4:

Spoiler

At least he's not a huge walking red flag like Bjørn was in the OG film, he was so stupid and went back when he didn't need to, the f*cking rabbit was in the car the whole time :biblio:, he just endangered his family even more when he went back.

Preferred the original, but this was still a fun watch.

I watched the original again for the second time last night and my anxiety was through the roof, this is the only movie that gives me so much anxiety even though I know what's going to happen, the new one gave me a lot of anxiety too.

This was solid! I'm glad it started doing its own thing eventually, I just wish it had done so a lot earlier because for the first two acts it was really just an inferior version of the original. What it went for instead was nothing new but done well enough. I think I would have liked it a lot more if I wasn't familiar with the original, but again: not bad at all! :clap3:

It was an all right watch..

I preferred the original that's for sure, the tension was more palpable

I hate movies when 2/3 of it is tension and the 1/3 left is just useless failed escape scenes that last forever with non-sense action

and can we talk about the American dad, I was almost mad at him how weak he was, the wife really saved the situation and I'm not surprised she was craving d*ck pics from somebody else

Anyway still a ok watch but the original win by a big margin

I liked that someone acted just like some random city person would act tbh, in real life 90% of people wouldn't react as action charcters in a situation like this.

Better than the original but still not amazing.

To me, Mackenzie Davis and the kids were the stars.

Just came back from the cinema!

I went in skeptical about it, because I LOVED the original. It had made me so uncomfortable. But I loved this too.

Of course, Americans had to 'americanize' it and

Spoiler

give it a happy ending as opposed to the original,

but I did love it.

Also, watching James McAvoy's toned calves all throughout the film and him naked his black btiefs was so hot :WAP:
