So TUN and 7 rings are eligible for Diamond?   (unless they have too many user generated streams)

How is No Tears Left To Cry below Look What You Made Me Do? It has way more Spotify streams (which can allow us to assume it has way more Apple Music streams), and is only 250 million views behind on YouTube (covered by its 370 million lead on Spotify).

Maybe NTLTC was more global

I don't think it includes user generated video streams. Neither RIAA or Billboard use them anymore

As someone else mentioned, LWYMMD had to be a little more US-centered, NTLTC didn't even hit #1 while the former stayed at the top for multiple weeks iirc?

OT: 5 billion songs in the US is amazing :clap3: wish we had more numbers

Yeah but No Tears had much better longevity (12 weeks in the top ten vs. 8 and 27 weeks on chart vs. 20). I guess Look's YT views still made the difference between the two, or maybe the gap on Apple Music wasn't as big as it was on Spotify since I guess the latter is more US-centric and as we've established, Look's success was also more concentrated in the US.

Maybe you could ask since you are his sub?

I still dont get the units they post. For example, a couple of weeks ago they had Just Dance at 10.4m, and it was certified 11x Platinum by RIAA, so they were 0.6m behind.

It's Nielsen units, not RIAA.

The Youtube & other free streams from Spotify, SoundCloud etc are underweighted in their formula. Just Dance is so big, that the gap can grow to 600k difference.

For reference he posted Money Longer's streams & units. The streams = 6.66M with RIAA, but it's at 6.3M with Nielsen

I guess if you want RIAA numbers it would be better to ask for stream #s, not units.

I think NTLTC doesn’t have many YT views in the US, LWYMMD has 250M more WW and was a little bit more US centric so it def has way more video streams

OT: they need to certify 7r and TUN diamond on TUN’s next anniversary :jonny5:

TWO diamond smashes in a single era :jonny5:

Side to Side and Bang Bang eventually coming for a Diamond too. Bang Bang had MASSIVE sales run from 2014 as well :WAP:

This includes a lot of non official video streams, cutting them off the songs would have these would be their units (RIAA)

-7 rings: +9.5M

-TUN: +9M
-NTLTC: around 6M

-S2S: around 7.25M

-BB: very very close to 10M if not there already
