Missouri effectively bans transgender therapy, including for adults

Why do Americans say they live in a “free country”, go on and on they live in the best country in the world. Then restrict the rights and freedoms of others based on something false and subjective?

And it is the fault of Americans because they vote these people in.

I thought Repubicans claim they believe in individual liberty and freedom, was I being lied to?

But the radical left wanting to use gender-inclusive language is the problem. :coffee2:

US is turning in a third world country

Posted

A patchwork of states with wildly different rules, much like gay marriage for about a decade.

Except this battle’s about 20 years behind that and is much more existential.

I mean, whether trans adults will be able to continue to receive care anywhere in this country will essentially come down to Roberts and Kavanaugh, with Gorsuch being a slim wild-card.

Trans youth and hormones I could feasibly see on the chopping block entirely.

The US is slowly turning into Gilead, isn't it? :biblio:

Wow. Ive been on hormones as an adult for 6 years. This is crazy. I never thought I would have to, but I will have no choice but to immigrate to Canada if SCOTUS declares hormone therapy illegal nation wide.

I don’t understand republicans, a lot of them online are claiming trans teens need therapy to be sure they are transitioning before they jump on hormones/blockers

Then they turn and do this? :toofunny2:

Everyday it's something new

The reason why they are getting away with all of this is because of the anti-trans voices on both sides. There's very little support.

But I was told that the US isn't an authoritarian country?

Nah, it's already been there for a while.

I hate this shithole country, **** these fascists. They are evil and we need to get them out of power ASAP.

Both sides? Missouri has a supermajority in its state legislature and a Republican governor. There's only one side pushing for **** like this, and it's conservatives. And an A-ranked pollstar showed that 56% of Americans support trans rights. Like abortion bans, these are also implemented by an overrepresented minority and are largely out of touch from the opinions of the American populace.

I wasn't using the term both sides to neglect the oppression that the transgender community face. It was to simply point out that there is far more limited support for the Trans community which makes them an easier target. Many Democratic gays are anti-trans, just like Straight Christian men.

Gotcha, that makes more sense. I will say it is quite despicable how many LGB people are willing to throw trans people under the bus.

Certain states are absolute hell on earth. In certain other states, something like this wouldn’t see the light of day

My home state Maryland would never allow this to happen :heart2:

Not to mention virtually every red State is gerrymandered to oblivion, giving some of them veto-proof majorities for years.

It's also harder to push back when the attacks are happening in so many States at once (because they all got the same copy-paste legislation from right wing farms). The NC 2016 bathroom bill was easy to push back against because that was just one State.

I hope this makes it clear better than ever that they are trying to erase trans people and it won’t stop with them. They will move from one group to the next if they aren’t stopped and if more people don’t speak out and help the trans community.

Red states will get what’s coming to them.

You forgot that this only applies to people who subscribe to the GQP’s beliefs

Ah yes, the "don't tread on me" party continuing their treading campaign. :rip:

Republicans are trash. No good person votes Republican at this point.

The way America is slowly but surely turning into a complete fascist state is terrifying :biblio:

The country will end up like Gilead in the future if something isn't done about it.
