The song is DOA unfortunately. It’s not even top 100 on Spotify or Apple Music.

If she had released this instead of Boyz, it might not have got people talking as much as Boyz did but it would’ve given her credibility as an artist. Now I feel it might be too late for her.

This is boring unfortunately

Isn't this just Australia/NZ?

Such a shame if it is overall as it is a great song.

Unfortunately zero radio support from the big stations.

This is a bad sign surely but that only counts plays from countries like Japan, OZ

This feels like a cheap Lana attempt, but still better than Boyz. But that song ended her career for good

So the song is a bomb right? Not surprised, it's so boring :rip:

She managed to hire top songwriters to work on her album. Could she not find another label to support her or did she not want to?

I think would have to sign away her artistic freedom and the master rights to get a label behind her. I would do the same thing. I'd try to put out an album on my own, collect the dime, see if it paid for itself, and then do the business talks again.

Makes sense in theory.

But said business talks look very different after a flop.

Any prospective label partner will have clear-as-day data showing that the audience interest has diminished, so they can either lowball her with an offer way different to before or flat-out choose not to work with her. Something that wouldn't happen if they were basing negotiations on the "perception" of her popularity (e.g. inherited fans from Little Mix days).

Both approaches (label and going it alone) are a risk.

Her trajectory will be interesting to see.
