Pressure begins mounting for California Senator Dianne Feinstein to retire

I like how there are two recent examples of men facing demands to retire over health and age reasons, yet Pelosi will inevitably double down on the sexism card.

Nevermind the fact that Feinstein’s absence is blocking judicial appointments. Which you’d think would be more urgent after four years of Trump stuffing the courts. But apparently liberals have to be completely stupid when it comes to this kind of thing.

Nancy Pelosi is a deeply unserious person. She represents the rot and decay of the party.

Im sure that vacancy on the 4th circuit court of appeals truly cares deeply about #womansrights

These people are EMBARRASSING. They absolutely haven't learned from RBG's mistake that cost THEM their rights.

The way "My body, my choice" has warped into an aggrandizing "Her seat, her choice" when so much is on the line is preposterous. Court seats are very important, but they don't seem to think so even with the Mifepristone case on the line.

I hate the Democrats. Absolute disgrace of a party. Feinstein should have been canned decades ago, yet they rush to play defense for her and insist she can run and serve as long as she wants to even with VISIBLE cognitive decline. So ******* embarrasssing.

Honestly at this point, the Democratic Party is further proving that they just wanna clutch their pearls and fundraise and scream “Look what republicans are doing!”

Since they don’t have the numbers in congress to do anything, the courts are the 1 area they can go to to fight back and push back (especially the court of appeals). There’s too many court of appeals seats open to not **** around and risk not getting filled. Right now there’s 2, and with the possibility of it getting to FIVE vacancies on the 9th circuit, Dems lose the 9th, generations of suffering ensues

I think they realize that at this point, the Senate is lost and they are truly living on borrowed time. But their voters don't grasp that, so they're complacent enough and think they don't have to push their elected officials to act now while they still have a chance. I don't think they realize how lucky we got. They assume that Trump is the only reason they managed to hold some ground in the midterms that they honestly really shouldn't have. They assume that Trump being at the top of the ticket in 2024 basically means they've already won everything, so they shouldn't be expected to govern with any sense of urgency.

They know that for the sake of fundraising, your greatest position of strength is from a position of weakness in government. The more shut out you are, the more funds you can drive off of stoking fear. So... Democrats want to lose. It's why Joe Biden was pushed through the primary- he was a weak, feeble old man that wasn't supposed to win, and in fact almost lost despite Trump doing everything in his power during COVID to lose himself. It's why Kamala Harris, an extremely unelectable and incapable politician in her own right, was selected as the heir apparent, with the added bonus that her identity gave her extra excuses as to why people won't be voting for her. Much like how Dianne Feinstein and her sycophantic supporters are hiding behind her identity to protect her from calls to retire.

You pretty much summed it up. The crazy part: democrats have actually been more electorally successful than they were under Obama. You would think they’d enjoy winning while the GOP is in shambles, but they don’t seem to act like it. Wisconsins entire political landscape is about to shift because the Wisconsin Democratic Party played to win. Michigan Dems barely pulled out a trifecta and are passing some of the best laws in the nation. Minnesota is channeling FDR level policies.

Federal democrats? “Don’t care, time for another long vacation, and LEAVE FEINSTEIN ALONE YOU SEXIST PIGS!” Oh and “time for another strongly worded letter against those mean courts”!

It’s the state parties that are the only thing making me care about this horrid party, particularly in the Midwest. I’ve lost all hope in Dems ever doing anything for me at the federal level
