Blue. Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Wow first time I don’t love a song from her from the go. Lyrically, I think the mermaids parts and London clubbing parts sound disjointed? Almost as if the mermaids sections were one of those demo that verses are nonsensically written since they are just to draft the phrasing and topline. The production is great up to the end. It seems to build to something frenetic and opulent and just fizzles after that stop at 3:53. Maybe it will grow on me.
BreakinTheIce Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 This would've worked perfectly around Daffodil. But I'm also biased towards her darker songs. She's in her Ceremonials bag again
BreakinTheIce Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 16 hours ago, Why said: The arrangement is amazing I can see why it was cut as it kinda sticks out, and not sure why they decided to stick it between The Bomb and Morning Elvis The funny thing is it actually would've made a great opener followed by Free, with King sitting between TB and ME yeah, if anything if you're not gonna put it around Daffodil, just put it after Bomb and Morning Elvis. The two of those are a perfect back to back. This in the middle sounds really disjointed lol

It really is random af tho lol 20 hours ago, killer_rose said: @Supervillain I think this makes sense. Florence is describing her past in that verse, her chaotic life filled with drugs, clubs and making out with people. Britney's famous perfumes came out 2004-2005-20006 when Florence was 19/20 and started her university. 16 hours ago, Joesuxx said: It makes perfect sense - she’s talking about her lungs and ceremonial promo tours - lots of nightclubs and universities. Here in Britain the Britney fragrance line is still one of the best sellers to this day, and you smell Curious and Fantasy a lot in nightclubs and uni’s still. I think the coconut is referencing Rum. OT - this song feels really personal if not more so than most of the record. anyone know when it was written? I have some questions about her personal life rn that I won’t post because it’s none of my business. Thanks guys, it totally makes sense I was so confused at first and thought I was hearing "Britney Spears" incorrectly
Uncatena Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 man, Dave Bayley really worked his magic on these songs with Flo

It ties more into the COVID 'theme' of the album vs. the more songwriting/career theme, but def has a place to introduce (and better connect) the dancier ML .... Plus, D and M tie the blood/horror together much better.
unino Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 idk but i'm kind of bored with random release and lil soundtracks. i now NEED an album that sounds cohesive from her again. it's been a ******* long time since we have HBHBHB

ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted April 21, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted April 21, 2023 Also this is a bop it probably would be my second fave from Dance Fever behind My Love had it been included originally

starchasethesun Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 fully agree that it should go between D and ML! also i looooove how it explodes towards the end, can't stop listening
Bosque Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 What a BOP Dance Fever confirmed as her best album

It's so hard for me to rank them, besides C at #1 and L at #5. Her discog, whew.
stjosephprey4us Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 She ate this DOWN I’m convinced this woman can do no wrong
Heldenzeit Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 This is much better than most songs on DF, wyd sis?
killer_rose Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 She finished the demo recently while she had her broken foot.

ahauntingnearu Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Don't forget ha, the gays - I'm still BOPPING to this on my bloody dancefloor
popstickle Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I noticed this managed to chart in the UK at #95. It’s her lowest charting single I think, but did better than Free and Dream Girl Evil which is surprising since they got more promotion/push.
Mr. Peanutbutter Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 This is great. Dance Fever should have had more of this sound
