Wow first time I don’t love a song from her from the go.

Lyrically, I think the mermaids parts and London clubbing parts sound disjointed? Almost as if the mermaids sections were one of those demo that verses are nonsensically written since they are just to draft the phrasing and topline.

The production is great up to the end. It seems to build to something frenetic and opulent and just fizzles after that stop at 3:53.

Maybe it will grow on me.

The funny thing is it actually would've made a great opener followed by Free, with King sitting between TB and ME

yeah, if anything if you're not gonna put it around Daffodil, just put it after Bomb and Morning Elvis. The two of those are a perfect back to back. This in the middle sounds really disjointed lol

 Britney's famous perfumes came out 2004-2005-20006 when Florence was 19/20 and started her university.

It does come out of no where, but yea

 

If she had put M in between D and ML, I'd change my tracklist; I see it there because it's sort of this nostalgic craving for going out and connecting with / touching people, but right after in ML she's saying she can't do all those things anymore. It ties more into the COVID 'theme' of the album vs. the more songwriting/career theme, but def has a place to introduce (and better connect) the dancier ML .... Plus, D and M tie the blood/horror together much better.

Ceremonials could probably never be topped for me, but HAH and DF definitely compete for that #2... sometimes HBHBHB spills in as well. It's so hard for me to rank them, besides C at #1 and L at #5. Her discog, whew.

I noticed this managed to chart in the UK at #95. It’s her lowest charting single I think, but did better than Free and Dream Girl Evil which is surprising since they got more promotion/push.
