Tabloids like the NY Post quickly publish stories without vetting them, and even in this case, the author didn't want his name attached to the story because he know the story had serious issues. Reputable news organizations like NPR don't publish rumors without credible backing. The NY Post barely accepted the story with Bannon and Giuliani, two people with very little credibility, being the only named sources. That kind of backing didn't meet NPR's standards. Lol. "Reputable" NPR and the rest of the mainstream media lost all their credibility when they took up the business of parroting CIA-distributed talking points vis-a-vis Trump being an agent of Vladimir Putin and Hunter Biden's laptop, which I'm sure you yourself believed with full credulity.

DDoSecrets confirmed that the laptop files were tampered with. I trust DDoSecrets more than Bannon, more than Giuliani, and more than anyone who takes tabloids at face value. FYI, even though Republicans would like you to believe that right-wing news is not part of the "mainstream media", the NY Post is absolutely "mainstream media". It's a mainstream tabloid that happily publishes stories without confirming them. Edited April 9, 2023 by Stimulus

They platformed disinformation spewed by Malcolm Nance, John Brennan, and James Clapper DAILY for four whole years.

Horizon Flame Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 NPR is not what it once was. It’s now trying to out-woke Twitter.

NPR is more reputable than MSNBC and definitely more reputable than the NY Post. Russia did interfere in the 2016 U.S. elections even though Trump's team was only shown to have welcomed the Russian interference instead of directly collaborating with Russia. Back on topic, Musk backtracked and NPR's Twitter account is now labeled as "Government Funded Media" instead of "US state-affiliated media". Still misleading since NPR only gets a small portion of its funding from the government. Edited April 9, 2023 by Stimulus
Tropez Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Isn’t this a good thing? These news sources do nothing but pump out US propaganda.
ClashAndBurn Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 If anybody should be maligned as Biden-affiliated state propaganda, it’s the New York Times. What a joke of a publications. Since name-calling is the best you can do, there's clearly not enough substance in your comments to change anyone's opinion. Anyone who has done more than a very shallow observation of NPR, CNN, and MSNBC can see the differences in their content. And anyone who thinks that a tabloid like the NY Post is reputable for a story that the author refused to put his name on due to concerns with its credibility is not someone who should be talking to others about media literacy. Doesn't change the fact that the NY Post was right about the Hunter Biden laptop story being real and everyone from NPR to MSNBC parroted the CIA line that it was a Russian hoax.

NPR was right to report on the laptop while providing the context that the laptop files are compromised.

I don't think that you fully understand that repeating US propaganda over and over is not going to make it true. If you can't even accept that the media grossly mismanaged the Hunter Biden laptop story out of pure bias (which isn't even controversial to accept anymore ) then you're doing more harm than good at whatever you think you're doing.

This analysis was done by DDoSecrets, a whistleblower organization that operates like WikiLeaks. DDoSecrets is not a U.S. government organization. If you can't accept that there were serious issues with the credibility of the laptop story, which led to the main author of the NY Post article withholding his name from the article, then you're openly accepting the right-wing propaganda that the people who distributed the laptop files (Bannon and Giuliani) wants you to believe. Anyway, the Twitter and NPR saga continues here.
