A thunderbolt to rival Kansas back in the summer. And a lot to unpack regarding the college drives, which played a huge part in this.

From The NYT:

Her election to a 10-year term for an officially nonpartisan seat gives Wisconsin’s liberals a 4-to-3 majority on the court, which has been controlled by conservatives since 2008. Liberals will hold a court majority until at least 2025, when a liberal justice’s term expires. A conservative justice’s term ends in 2026.

Slight reality check: if the state senate race goes to the Republican, that will give them a super-majority, which they could potentially use to impeach and remove Janet (and the other Democrats).

It's a nail-biter too.

This'll be one to hold your excitement for.

Gen Z doesnt mess around. As soon as those old dinosaurs die out in the SC and assuming we have a Democratic president I can see the SC flipping back to a liberal majority and Dobbs getting reinstated. :clap3:

Good news! In a place like Wisconsin… well it’s not exactly the most liberal place so good for people showing up :clap3:

Wow it looks like a big win. 70% of the vote in and ahead by 13 points, and may go up.

I think they need 2/3 votes in the house (which they don’t have) to do that. Besides if they do: Evers appoints a replacement

What does this mean :biblio:

Wisconsins 1849 abortion ban law is very likely to get struck down, and Wisconsin is the most gerrymandered state in the nation. It’s very likely to get new maps.

This is GREAT

Given the literal (not metaphoric) fascism and autocracy currently happening in the Tennessee legislature, an impeachment and removal of Janet is unfortunately no longer completely out of the question, yes.

BUT, the last hope regarding SD-08 is that Milwaukee County (as of this post) is still just under half-reported.

Extreme focus on drag / trans issues + anti-choice legislation is going to continue to hurt Republicans dearly in the next year :cm:
