cockatoo Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I know a lot of people on this forum are gay men but hypothetically, if you had a partner or surrogate mother and you found out the baby had a disability would you want to keep them? Personally I think it would depend on the disability but I wouldn't judge anyone for their decision. Having a disabled child can come with a financial and emotional burden that many would not be able to support. Better to not have a child than for them to grow up being resented.
Smarticle Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 i know it's a hard decision for some, but i would have to say yes
normaniended Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 erm absolutely yes. idgaf if they only have a lazy eye they're getting the boot. my children need to look beautiful and aesthetically pleasing for family photos and such.

JayG Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Yes because I wouldn’t want it to suffer and live a limited life, which would be unfortunately inevitable

I guess they have to pick up the slack huh.
Tylerbv Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 No, i’d be too busy being confused how my gay ass was gonna birth a baby
ProudLBS Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 If I had a baby on the way I’d get an abortion period
Into The Void Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Luckily I'm never having kids so this won't be an issue
Zaynsus Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I would probably regret it and cry for the rest of my life but I'd rather do that than watch them grow up sick and end up being miserable and unhappy.
Miss Show Business Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Depending on the severity. If they would be so disabled that they'd basically be a vegetable their whole life? Then yes - I don't think it's fair or moral to bring life into the world like that. If their disability will be a challenge but something that can be overcome and they could live a normal life? No.

kandicha Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 It depends on the disability but probably not. Most people with disabilities can still live good lives.
Sweet Sexy Savage Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Is this while the surrogate is carrying the baby(pre 15 weeks)? If so, I would honestly
loveisdead9582 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 … that’s a tough one. If we were talking life as a vegetable and never living any sort of fulfilling or full life? Possibly. If we’re talking something mild, missing a limb, etc, no.
Mr. Mendes Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 It would depend on the disability. Many, many, many disabilities are not life ruining curses. Plenty of people are born with disabilities and go on to live a full, happy, and healthy life. If the disability is something that would mean they die young, suffer through the time they do have, or something of that ilk, then I'd consider an abortion. But ultimately, it'd come down to a discussion with the doctor on what their quality of life would be.

dussel_06 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) If it’s a down syndrome, I’m not sure. tbh. Hydrocephalus, Yes. I din’t want them to suffer. But let’s say they have small feet and can’t walk properly, then maybe no. They can still live a normal life. Edited March 23, 2023 by dussel_06
