This.  It's the perfect movie be studied as the perfectly esecuted movie of a specific era.

It Is well acted and emotional but a modern remake makes no sense  It would be just an already seen thriller type of story.

I somewhat agree with you about the plot twist, but imo the movie shouldn’t be watched in a “literal” way.

 

The fact that it’s a masterpiece has more to do with how it was made, how it tells the story and it’s place in the Hitchcock cannon than the actual plot of the movie itself

honestly Hitchcock has a bunch of films that are ripe for remakes, but these established classics... absolutely unnecessary.
