I've been pretty convinced of the idea that the American Left as we knew it during the Bernie Sanders campaign is basically dead. Too many grifters that have since shown their true colors. Half of the left are Biden Liberals now, with "Push Biden Left" proving itself to be a complete and total failure. The other half is a disorganized mess that has no political power at all. It's all very disheartening. Emma Vigeland even pointed out to Cenk that there's no data to suggest that inclusive language has moved people to the right. Yet he's still convinced that "LatinX" and "birthing people" are going to result in Trump winning in '24.

I hear more about people mocking LatinX than I hear people actually use it. The only person I’ve seen use it unironically was Latina. It’s so sad how we have no leaders anymore. This is why when people say we need Bernie to run again just… make me cringe? No disrespect to Bernie, but we’re doomed if he’s our only hope. We need someone to rise to the occasion, but apparently is willing and able to do that.

No one serious is going to sacrifice their standing when Biden is running as an incumbent. Even though there's polling out there that suggests Biden loses to either DeSantis or Trump. That's why we've got Marianne and RFK Jr as the only alternatives, I guess.

He was rambling on Twitter about it the other day too. This whole bs feels so astroturfed, specially the way Ana just randomly started talking about this "birthing person" grievance in the middle of a legislative attack towards trans people that they themselves have covered on their show. It's clear they're doing it for some engagement and hit tweets. I hope they at least get an invite to Bill Maher out of this. On 4/13/2023 at 7:32 PM, Bloo said: It’s just nonsensical. Who are these brittle souls out there claiming they're going to change their whole political outlook and vote Republican over a little x?

John Slayne Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 this 'discourse' has always been wild to me because terms like 'birthing person' or 'people who menstruate' have their specific meaning and in certain contexts are just more accurate. even if we put trans and intersex people aside (which we shouldn't!), not all cis women menstruate. in fact, a huge number of them don't - elderly women! so when talking about issues such as period poverty, 'people who menstruate' is the group you are targeting, not women. my grandmother can't get pregnant and doesn't menstruate, am i supposed to inform her that according to transphobic weirdos she's no longer a woman? since apparently 'a woman' and 'a person who menstruates' are the same thing...
