Another hard-fought ATRL March Madness comes to a close at last, after seven rounds, more than 330 votes and 62 fallen contenders, with your pick for the most indispensable cover. Did you prefer the sleek self-affirmation of #1 "It's My Life" or the plaintive lament of #1 "Torn"? By a vote of 19-11, the winner of ATRL March Madness 2023 is... (1) "Torn" Natalie Imbruglia Congratulations to Natalie Imbruglia on her well-deserved title! After a dominant performance all tournament long, even the overall top seed proved no match for this '90s classic. It's sweet vindication for "Torn" nearly a decade in the making. Back in 2014, the song made it to the Final Four of our one-hit wonders contest, before losing in a tiebreaker to the Cardigans' "Lovefool." Thank you to everyone who participated the past few weeks! I loved getting to dig into this theme with you, even if it proved a bit more controversial than usual. Cannon Posted April 12, 2023 Share Posted April 12, 2023 I think No Doubt's version of It's My Life to be a lot more compelling than Torn but have to admit that Torn captures the spirit of the 90's in a really special way.
