SmittenCake Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 After saying that "wokeness" at school college campuses was an extreme North Korea wouldn't even partake in, Miss Park is once again sharing to the world her inconsistencies and laughable lies. This time the masses don't seem to be on her side and are awakening to her gift.
Pendulum Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 We been knew she's a fraudulent grifter but your North Korea threads lately are a bit questionable and concerning
Communion Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Makes you think- if all the grifters the West hire to talk about their time in the DPRK are lying, then aren't these Western governments also likely lying too?

How often outside of Western media do you hear about innovations and growth in DPRK? Not much. It's engaging and insightful to share what goes on inside the most isolated country in the world. Same with other nations the average person doesn't have much knowledge or an idea about. Nuance and various perspectives create healthy.

So new buses and apartments for the elites living in Pyongyang? The people in the countryside probably don't have food to eat yet your definition of growth is new public transit stock? It's interesting to know what's going on there, I agreem but please don't try to frame it as some sort of an economic prosperity.

Maybe since my prior knowledge on the nation was so closed minded, bigoted and hateful that I find the slightest "modern" update or imitation amusing and applaude worthy. There are some minor advances, for the elite or not, that I comes across as unexpected. Maybe this was the result of having such backwards thinking before. i was previously in the mindset of hard-core sanctions and condemnation until the entire country collapses, but then figured that something like that is very unlikely. A soft approach benefits everyone, especially the extreme lower class/poverty striken citizens. Sanctions should be lifted and within time, progress is bound to happen. Which could lead to a plethora of...good things for everyone!
Taylena Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Being killed is actually extremely unlikely in North Korea unless you do something unforgivable against the regime. Most likely you'll receive hard labor as punishment (it can be temporary depending on the severity of your transgression) and some of your relatives might get in trouble too. Some of these people are not even real refugees and many with presence on social media like to sell the most outlandish tales to attract an audience.
Delusional Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 I’ve seen this woman all over social media a lot recently, just saying..
ZIVERT Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) The Kellyanne Conway of North Korea, just saying ****. It’s so annoying when I see new content online about North Korea, start watching/listening, only to find out that the “source” or “special guest” they’re speaking with is Yeonmi Park. She would lie to a wall just for the sake of it. Edited March 22, 2023 by ZIVERT
Robert Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 She will say anything for money or attention. She is just a puppet of the right. It’s frustrating as people will use her bullshitting as an excuse to dismiss all NK refugees experiences most of which are genuine (highly recommend everyone read the Girl With Seven Names by Lee Hyeon Seo).
Attitude Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I didn't want to say it, but she always seemed like she was making **** up as she went along.

That was such a good book! As was Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick

Virgos Groove Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 She'll never top "in North Korea, people have to push the train". That was A-class lying and the fact that some people still fall for it makes it even funnier.
