ariananext Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 If it was just about music it would be The Weeknd, but considering that's not, it's Bieber by far. The cultural relevance is just too big to be overlooked.
JustHoran Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Justin Bieber is the Prince of Pop for sure It was close at one time to being Justin Timberlake but it didn't happen for him
JustHoran Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 I voted for Harry Styles because i'm biased It's Bieber tho

Prince is an actual example of an artist who has his own distinctive sound. It even has a name (the Minneapolis sound) and it actually changed the course of popular music. OT: Prince is the best and most influential artist from that list so him I guess. A case for The Weeknd could be made as well given his humongous success. How does FS/LS sound anything like MJ Prince isn't even Pop
Stankonia Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 3 minutes ago, Johnny Cash said: How does FS/LS sound anything like MJ Prince isn't even Pop I was specifically talking about how JT is doing his best impression of MJ's singing style on most of his songs but JT's debut album literally contains a lot of MJ rejects that that were originally written for his Invincible album. FS/LS sounds like every other Timbaland/Danja production from the late 00's so when exactly did JT acquire his "own distinctive sound" that supposedly changed the direction of Pop music? How is Prince not pop? His little instrumental/Jazz/Rock side projects don't change the fact that his biggest and most notable albums (Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Sign O the Times, Parade, Lovesexy, Diamonds and Pearls, O(+>, The Gold Experience etc.) are all pop albums.

Rev8 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Tbh all of them are Elton and Prince deserve some older title like a King but they dont really feel like KOPs (not meaning "as high/low", just different style) JB is a perfect for the POP title tho since he is youthtfull and so perfect for the whole aspect of it JT was also kind of that...but like the big brother lol the other are also a bit different? Harry is like..more rockish (altho he is a good fit), like ..doesn't fit perfectly (same with Paul there)
Baby Boy Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Between one of the two Justin’s. I lean towards Bieber as his career trajectory is similar to Britney’s.

More Than A Melody Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 No one. These artists are all massively different from one another and none of them do anything similar to what MJ did. And no, not even Bruno Mars. They're all major pop boys, that's it.
