AvadaKedavra
She has helped so much in my country and brought so many billionaries-rich people to invest money too. So so many kids from poor families have graduated thanks to her and are in the workforce now Just look how big and beautiful is her school in barranquilla. She has also helped in Haiti,India,Middle East and other places anonimously and public She was also fighting for the rights of kids all over latinoamerica en las Cumbres presidenciales Supported the inmigrants in Arizona when no one was standing for them decades ago. Against sheriff arpaio She's so cute She started this foundation-philantrophy cause her family went bankrupt when she was a child and she was complaining to her dad william of how they lost their TV-Car-Luxuries-Toys She was middle class and then went straight to poverty Then her dad took her to a local park in barranquilla with homeless depressed kids sniffing glue (Drugs) and made her aware of her privilegues-how lucky she was for havin a home and a family Then Shakira promised to herself of how one day she would help those kids and she would also help her parents and reedem them gettin famous She rarely talks about her past in deep detail but her life story is just impressive i want a biopic from her. Just showin how beautiful is this lady Im very curious about her time in Bogota. It was probably the most challengin period of her life Me too, I've done some research on that and found interesting facts. She was struggling financially when she moved there with her mom around June 1993, at a student dorm type of apartment and was roaming the city everyday visiting radio/tv stations so she could get her music out there or book a 30 sec interview (since Sony wouldn't answer her calls and she was devastated after receiving the a letter about the label eventually dropping her soon) but she would get doors slammed in her face because she was poor, chubby and dressed in cheap clothes. Plus she was from a smaller town so i bet they considered her an annoying hillbilly of some sort. She resorted to doing smal gigs at bars/restaurants all over the city (i'd found somewhere a setlist of that time with Peligro/Magia songs). Things got better with El Oasis and she managed to buy a decent apartment but the discrimination based on her looks continued unfortunately (there's an interview from 1994 where she did a photoshoot at that very same apartment). Her darkest moment was when she was forced to participate to that Mejor Cola competition and originally she wanted to wear shorts but she was talked into posing in a bikini for better chances of winning, lol. She was handed that award at the Tv y Novelas 1994 awards (where she wears a blue dress and dances with Guy Ecker) and her dad bought every single copy he could find to save themselves from the embarrassment It was at those awards that she caught the eye of Ceci Guzman after she performed DEC and the rest is history. Oh yes. She lived in a pension at first (Creo que en Chapinero). Jota Mario (Colombian talk show host) spilled one time en Muy Buenos Dias how much he regretted not paying attention to her. He was one of those who ignored her before stardom. She also worked in some places too like Restaurants. She trained in Las Cavernas del Rudio for days and days and thats how she got those great performing skills. Here in Colombia in the old times people from the coast were mocked as "corronchos" and seen as less sophisticated. I think that also played a part in all the hate she got. A lot of people in the entertainment industry here had big connections, were from real wealthy backgrounds or backed by narcos. Shakira didnt have that and everyone thought she would amount to nothing. Thats crazy. Its not? Like u said...The clothing. chubby look also played a part. Ella tambien se veia algo gotica y asi como rarita y no se veia como las otras "divas" del tiempo. Ellos seguro querian una sofia vergara o otra rubia como margarita de francisco En esos tiempos de modelitos y cantantes medio tropicales Shakira si era un bicho raro Autentica al 100% la reina Oh yes once things got better for her she lived in an apartment in La Calleja en Barranquilla como sabemos vivio en el Limoncito Is very funny cause i lived in that neighboorhood-block 3 years ago (2020) before the pandemic coincidentaly and i was like.... Oh my god shakira lived here Walked these streets and some songs from Pies-Dell were 4 sure written here. Wow, that must have been an experience. I'd love to visit her hometown if i ever make it to Colombia. She surely made them eat their words with her talent and perseverance to the point they started fighting for her attention later on and making up stories as to who discovered her first. They got their karma Bogota can be very gloomy-overcast and sad sometimes. Is one of the cities in the world with less sunlight I totally get how why some songs from Pd-Dell can be so sad That neighboorhood where she lived once she got wealthier. Is very cute. Lots of parks nearby. Beautiful architecture. Yo estudiaba en la uni de al lado I always been curious about her mental development in Bogota Ella tuvo como un renacimiento intelectual en Bogota despues con eso llego a miami y creo Pies Descalzos junto a Ochoa. paso de ser la niña de la costa tierna hipertalentosa que escribia canciones mid a la Rockera anti-establishment super intelectual con masterpieces I wonder if meeting hippies-metalheads-grungefans and all kinds of people in the art industry and gettin through so much suffering changed her life perception Edited March 20, 2023 by AvadaKedavra
