ATRL Moderator ATRL-o-matic Posted March 16, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted March 16, 2023 Well, let the games begin. Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is blasted as 'entitled and toxic' by Spartacus producer after saying she 'had to put her foot down' with Netflix showrunners for their character choices Steven DeKnight, whose writing credits include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Daredevil and the Starz series Spartacus, said he thought Ortega's comments were unprofessional. The 20-year-old star of The Addams Family spin-off said she was unhappy with the writers' work. Ortega said that nothing about the character Wednesday 'made sense to her', and she had to step in to correct the 'arc' of the story. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11865371/Wednesday-star-Jenna-Ortega-blasted-entitled-toxic-Spartacus-producer.html Is the beginning of the end coming for Jenna Ortega?
Hector Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) It sounds like mansplaining to me. Very patronizing and condescending. He's a relic of the pre-social media era that deems any honest & opinionated woman as "difficult" who must be penalized for going against the status quo. Edited March 16, 2023 by Hector
X~MoviePoP Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I feel like ppl r gonna switch up on her real soon
Bussea Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 it’s not that deep lmao she’s allowed to have an opinion on her work
TaggedGalaxy Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 They are going to Katherine Heigl her if she isn’t careful
Bhabylon Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Looking at his resume… yeah I can see why he was upset at miss ortega’s comments
Josh Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 If Jenna was a man who said the same thing Steven Deknight wouldn't had said anything. Whatever happened to honesty and free speech? She's saying what everyone else said about Wednesday, it's mid and mediocre.

Shimenawa Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Why trash the show while you are curently acting in it? It is a weird situation and doesn't make sense
Helios Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 The fact that they hired her for Beetlejuice 2 based off of Wednesday and she will probably be playing the EXACT same character.
family.guy123 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Yeah only a brain dead person would say what she said
Josh Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Just now, MaoMars said: Katherine Heigl had a number of movies lined up as well, that's why she started being an idiot. and none of those movies are good and Heigl doesn't have the talent or charisma that Jenna has. She's a fan favorite among Scream fans she doesn't need Netflix or Wednesday

Walk_Away21 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Jenna didn't lie. She saved her show from being the next Riverdale.

It also depends on a lot of variables, Julia Roberts was hell to producers and directors but kept scoring roles. Go figure. Zac Efron said he hated the HSM movies but he still has a career
LittleStarmen Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 shes weird to comment that when she probably changed three lines ans thinks she saved the show
harwee Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 They will write in a scene where she falls into a manhole and get replaced by a doppelganger, just watch.
Power love Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I’m all about being honest & speaking your mind but not when you’re currently still attach to the job. Isn’t she doing a sequel to Wednesday?
fountain Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I’m on Jenna’s side here… there is SO MUCH bad writing in the film industry right now and she was completely correct in talking honestly and openly about her experience with it. Telling her to remain quiet in the name of ~professionalism~ is not the solution… having better writers is.
qurl Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 actors should be allowed the leeway to be honest about the projects that they do … they don’t have to love everything they agree to perform in ! but her comments being SO recent relative to the success of the show and her meteoric career success were def ungrateful , esp since she kinda insulted the fans that genuinely enjoy the show unless the workplace environment is just completely toxic and she’s not revealing everything she’s dealt with she should def be more careful or directors and producers will hold it over her career when thinking about casting her. no one is too big to fail , least of all her
