Liafen Posted January 18 Posted January 18 If Hüller takes BAFTA, the route for her to win is Lily taking SAG. If Emi Li takes it, the americans might rally behind her I fear!
Eóghan Posted January 18 Posted January 18 If Sandra Huller misses the oscar nom after this double Bafta nomination ... The fact she was 5th/6th on gold derby just 2 weeks ago

hausofdave Posted January 18 Posted January 18 gerwig's always been in danger, barbie is the exact type of thing the director's branch would turn their nose up at. only the hopedictors have been calling her a lock due to the films unprecedented success
Almodusa Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Just finished KOTFM. All 3.5 hours were enticing, good job to the editor. While I’m not sure I would give Lily the win, I actually can see how she was a lead in this. She had enough presence for me. Still need to see Poor Things.
Likingstars Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Not Andrew Scott missing out on Best Actor but Teo Yoo is in while Greta Lee is out 1
Tusk Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Supporting Actor at the Oscars will have surprise noms in it.

She was in bed with her eyes closed for half the movie. Meanwhile Emma Stone embodied the evolution of human development. Give Emma the Oscar! 1
QueenofCopyPaste Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Sessa is coming tbh Im not surprised if he snatches an Oscar nom

Komet Posted January 18 Posted January 18 These BAFTA noms omfg I don't know how to feel, several of major snubs but also some pleasant surprises? 45 minutes ago, QueenofCopyPaste said: Sessa is coming tbh Im not surprised if he snatches an Oscar nom I mean, if we're thinking that The Holdovers is top 3 in picture, top 2 in best actor + screenplay and top 1 in sup actress (+ Payne is also prob in for director), Sessa could easily drag along esp since that movie relied on all three of them; I think I already mentioned that other 2 possibly winning but him not even getting a nom would be weird. The SAG miss makes me pause, but if wasn't basically a nobody I think he'd be a safe nom atp regardless. Supporting Actor noms will be a kii that's for sure 2
Price of Fame Posted January 18 Posted January 18 the bafta noms are great and messy, god forbid the exact same films/people aren't nominated over and over all season long cause it seems like that's what some people want. they should just double down and own it and stop trying to be an oscar precursor again like 20+ years ago. i can dream 3
Konril Posted January 18 Posted January 18 We love messy BAFTA, the no Oscar Best Actress nominee in 2022 did that. 1 1
Donquizote Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Lily can still win Oscar me thinks. Ms Chastain set the trend when she won Oscar without BAFTA nomination. BAFTA has not performed well in predicting Best Actress category in the last few years. However watch out for Huller. She might pull Olivia Colman if she won BAFTA.
Donquizote Posted January 18 Posted January 18 May December is over. Industry doesn't like it when the movie is related to their messy lives
Donquizote Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I am rooting for Murphy, but I am Happy for Gimatti. I think he will finally win that overdue Oscar. This time AMPAS will make up for that messy snub of Sideways.

Achilles. Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Holdovers overperforming at BAFTA was unexpected but it’s a big relief. Between them historically being low on Payne and also historically being very racist, I was worried about Da’Vine winning but now her much-deserved clean sweep looks all but assured. Gonna be funny if AACTA+BAFTA nominee Jacob Elordi is the one who sneaks into the Oscar lineup, but we’d be here for it. 1

WildAmerican Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Is The Color Purple worth seeing in theaters? Saw it just came avail for rental but that $20, theaters are still cheaper...
