Oppy, the consistent performer that you are :clap3:

They can’t be serious with all those Saltburn noms. I know they love to back British films but be real.

both Lanthimos & Gerwig might get the short end after all. Payne might be the BD runner up by a long distance instead of Marty

It's heavily juried though. 4/6 are jury picks.

the idea of andrew watching the nomination announcement live and thinking he's gonna make it because two of his co stars made it into supporting

Triet & Payne weren’t jury saves given the over performance of both films

The BAFTA jury should’ve at least saved Lily over Margot or Fantasia, makes no sense.

Also elated for Fantasia. Finally caught TCP yesterday and she was brilliant in it. The emotional interiority of her performance... :weeps:

Even if she misses the Oscars, at least she put up a fight.

Would that make Nolan a jury save, and not Top 2 here?

Nolan/Triet-Payne, either way Gerwig is out, Triet / Song will fill the female slot and fact Yorgos couldn’t even be a jury save shows hes vulnerable also

Yep, BAFTAS continue to be bizarre.

Cooper getting jury saved instead if Lanthimos/Scorsese, absolute mental. he’s already 2/2 nom

I’m so disgusted by the Scott and Gladstone snubs that I can’t even find any joy in Oparah, Sessa, and Foy being nominated. This is so nasty I don’t even want to go read people’s reactions or see the new prediction discourse. :gaycat7:

sessa was really good in the holdovers but can we please ban lead performances in the supporting categories :monkey:

Past Lives or American Fiction are the weakest links if Origin happens.

people want Maestro to sink but It won’t happen, its crystal clear the industry loves this

Why did the Globes get backlash for being racist when BAFTA is even more racist?

Teo getting in but Greta snubbed, ugh. It will be an uphill battle for Greta to het an Oscar nod but I am still hopeful.

Lily snubbed :dies: She may still win, I think Regina King missed some precursor noms before for Beale Street but still won Oscars. But she’s in Supporting. This is Emma’s to lose.

Yorgos missing too :shakeno:

Paul Mescal and Barry getting in, but I am so sad for Andrew Scott. He deserves to get in.

tbh, the amount of backlash would be because people know what globes are 10x more than they do bafta.

But Bafta did get backlash that one year enough that they invented this whole jury system in the first place.

which is why fantasia, vivian, teo, colman, danielle got in.

That said, I am SHOCKED still that killers missed director and especially actress (actor isn't shocking after sag). I mean, I do think lily is supporting, but Bafta has totally not had a problem with that in the past. It is possible that the brits just kinda don't have great attachment to an Important story about native american oppression. I had been assuming Emma would win the Bafta but that it would be over Lily, not with Lily absent.

BAFTA being BAFTA.

Adapted Screenplay: No KOTFM :lakitu:

Director: Scorcese out. Gerwig out. Lanthimos out.

Supporting Actor: Melton momentum 📉📉📉. Glad Sessa got in but he was definitely a co-lead with Giamatti.

Leading Actress: Lee out :chick3:. But OMG at Gladstone missing :rip:, she'll definitely get nominated for that Oscar, that win is not really secured though. Barrino still alive.

Leading Actor: Scott missing from the AOUS cast. Teo Yoo :allears:.

EDIT: Wright also missed.

Film: Barbie out.

The Saltburn love overall. May December and Nyad acting performances out!
