vale9001 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) May december was snubbed by BAFTA too. I think could even miss the best picture nominee at the Oscar now. I think it's the overlooked by critics movie of the season. Zone of interest and Anatomy of a fall are way more acclaimed and the festival movies of the season. American fiction will be nominated too. Edited January 10 by vale9001
Komet Posted January 10 Posted January 10 When Huller makes it in @ Oscars, but instead of Robbie not Bening Bening / Gladstone / Hullegend / Mulligan / Stone. (sorry Leegend, better luck next time)
Arcadius Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Poor Charles but he still won regardless, going from Riverdale to serious actor now. 1

hausofdave Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Domingo and Bening will be your annual GG+SAG combo snub
Dark Miracles Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) It would be beneficial for Margot to miss out on a nomination here tbh. It puts her in a much stronger position to win for her next, actually worthy project after missing out on a nomination for a billion dollar grossing movie Edited January 10 by Dark Miracles

Liafen Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Yeah American Fiction is coming to upset a la Coda and Green Book methinks. Mark my words 1
Mr. Duff Posted January 10 Posted January 10 So sad for Greta and the whole of May December missing SAG. May December is done I guess Greta can still get in, hopefully she pulls through in BAFTA. Rachel McAdams is also done My favorites are being decimated. But I love this season, the competition is so fierce compared to previous years. Is there a path for Emily to win? Emma could still upset over Lily right? If not Emma, maybe Carey can upset? Cillian or Cooper, I don’t mind who. Both actors did great. I wonder if we’ll have another random nominee like Andrea / Penelope before without any precursors. Zac Efron anyone? Or Josh Magaru in Past Lives I still have faith in Past Lives.

wesleywalrus Posted January 10 Posted January 10 The May December hate needs to be studied. Portman's best performance since Black Swan. I've been telling everyone BENING IS HAPPENING. Nyad is great. Also, everyone wants to believe there will be in underdog in Best Picture, when it reality it will be and has always been Oppenheimer.
Digitalism Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I love when awards get messy But the changes in SAG make no sense. If you wanted a good left turn it should have been Melton, Sandra, Gretta Their nominations are even more basic than in other award shows.

The two Nyad leads and the American Fiction over performance are really the only spoilers.

hausofdave Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Top 3 locked : Nolan, Scorsese, Lanthimos Last 2 spots: Gerwig, Glazer, Triet, Payne tho I think we are due for a 3/5 overlap with the Oscars. 1
Kylizzle Posted January 10 Posted January 10 No Past Lives or May December in anything is just ridiculous 1 1
harwee Posted January 10 Posted January 10 If there's gonna be a CODA or Green Book at all this year its going to be The Holdovers. Giamatti's speech about teachers gave it that kind of boost. Payne' nom is a sign. 1

Lettuce pray, the meltdowns from the locals about Oppy losing will be delicious Nolan can get his Director win, Actor/S.Actress/Screenplay is still a lovely BP package
QueenofCopyPaste Posted January 10 Posted January 10 If Sandra Huller misses the Oscar nominations when she gave the female performance OF THE YEAR
