looks like she'll be the first native american nominee ever.

(for whatever reason, it's happened to a few native canadians before but not native american.)

And this + Irishman would be the 2 longest Best Picture nominees in the last 45 years. Netflix + Apple being a bottomless bank for him.

They need to start making these long ass movies that are going on streaming anyway 2 parters. There would be fuss about the awards eligibility and that needs to be sorted out, but it would 100% help the numbers and make them feel so much less exhausting and more approachable. No one watches those movies at home in one sitting and no one likes pausing a movie somewhere randomly in the middle.

Not buying that Oppenheimer/KOTFM/any other big project can win BP with the current landscape. Almost certain Past Lives will snatch that unless it's not as good as we've been lead to believe

I don’t see it for Past Lives, it feels like this might be the year that ends the returning director dry spell in BP.

I kind of hope so because Past Lives trailer didn't blow me away whereas KOTFM looks immaculate.

Past Lives is a cute movie with great performances. It will get nominated for BP, but I doubt it will win.

The Zone of Interest has been gaining momentum. I think it has solidified itself as the frontrunner to win BP for now.

Rooting for Greta Lee, Queen Kate, Sandra, Jessica Lange to get nominated for Best Actress.

After Tang Wei was grossly SNUBBED last year, I think it's time for AMPAS to make up their mistake and nominate Greta this year :jonny5:
