Hearing *a lot* of great buzz about this movie, and particularly Glenn Howerton's performance. 97% RT and hype from film twitter/critics, seems small scale but might be one of the indie darlings of the season.

Emma will score another Best Actress nomination me thinks.

Oscar needs Queen Kate this year.

Hopefully Poor Things serves The Favourite rather than The Lobster

Cannes is today :duca:

Excited for Monster, Asteroid City, and May December.

Hope Todd wins this time after being robbed at gunpoint last year.

You’re thinking of a different Todd.

The Zone of Interest living up to the hype and getting RAVES at Cannes. :jonny6:

Raves for Killers of the Flower Moon.

Should be one of the top contenders this year.

These raves, wow.

The Lily Gladstone Oscar campaign starts now. :bam:

Leo and Lily leading the raves

Could be Oscar #2 for Leo

Already a great narrative for Lily

yeah it seems to be a very, very loose adaptation.

"the straight-shooting Tom White is diminished to the point that he would hardly even register in this story." He was the lead of the book.

"the most interesting of the many different movies that comprise it: A twisted love story about the marriage between an Osage woman and the white man." This was a very minor part of the book.

Though the review does say it is "a very long film that never affords her character the time she deserves."

The reviewers have been saying she’s kind of borderline supporting/lead and go into either category, and that she’s probably a lock for a win if she goes Supporting and a lock for a nom but maybe not a win if she goes Lead.

looks like she'll be the first native american nominee ever.

(for whatever reason, it's happened to a few native canadians before but not native american.)

And this + Irishman would be the 2 longest Best Picture nominees in the last 45 years. Netflix + Apple being a bottomless bank for him.
