Just watched Society of the Snow and I'm gagged a bit. This should've at least been a major player in the technical categories, I mean - the sound, the score, production design, makeup, cinematography, visual effects, all beautifully done. I know films like this have a hard time breaking into ATL, but I've found it to also be well written, acted and directed; it's very powerful and graphic while still being respectful to the victims.  

 

Netflix dropped the ball on this so hard, it's insane.

makes sense tho three billboards was a bp nominee and also Rockwell won GG, CC, BAFTA, and SAG despite not being the critical favorite. He swept all of the televised awards despite Dafoe's strength

No but I’m still so burned by that whole season. Dafoe swept, Metcalf won 3, and Chalamet and Hawkins won 2 each. But then the televised awards started and all 4 critics picks lost to louder performances by more famous people.
