Just watched Society of the Snow and I'm gagged a bit. This should've at least been a major player in the technical categories, I mean - the sound, the score, production design, makeup, cinematography, visual effects, all beautifully done. I know films like this have a hard time breaking into ATL, but I've found it to also be well written, acted and directed; it's very powerful and graphic while still being respectful to the victims.

Netflix dropped the ball on this so hard, it's insane.

the hotter Adam Driver can get it :gaycat4:

Also ecstatic to see Samy Burch win another trifecta for her incredible May December screenplay and Haynes popping up in Director :katie2:

had a feeling Glazer would win, was expecting Song would at least place tho. Nolan placing doesn’t surprise me at all, idk why so many people are surprised Oppenheimer has high-brow appeal.

let's launch ATRL's 2023-2024 Awards Season Thread Viewer's Awards, just as, if not more, important than the DiscussingFilmTwitter awards, I fear

Still fuming about this

makes sense tho three billboards was a bp nominee and also Rockwell won GG, CC, BAFTA, and SAG despite not being the critical favorite. He swept all of the televised awards despite Dafoe's strength

we should actually do a poll when the oscars noms come out for ppl who regularly view this thread...

on Oscar night, we could announce the real winners while we're seated for the Oscar winners :ryan3:

No but I’m still so burned by that whole season. Dafoe swept, Metcalf won 3, and Chalamet and Hawkins won 2 each. But then the televised awards started and all 4 critics picks lost to louder performances by more famous people. :rip:

This is how me make Godamund Pike happen  :ryan3:

For real tho, I kinda surprised there's never(?) been some kind of a film award here, like Atrl Grammys. AFCAs would be fun imo, but we should vote for whoever we want or at least follow some loose shortlist; I don't wanna follow oscars messy noms

Oppenheimer consistently showing up either as winner or runner up in regional, national, online, twitter, and high-brow critics awards. An all-around BP winner if there is ever one.
