Blunt won SAG for A Quiet Place. She was nominated for BAFTA Girl on Train.

I won't exclude her yet especially she's beloved amongst SAG and BAFTA voters.

But she was in an obvious oscarbait, entertainer biopic

Times have changed, the Academy is evolving, nobody would have thought a Korean movie could have won best picture just the previous year or that a movie like EEAAO could have became an Oscar contender and even sweeping like that.

If Oscars 2023 taught me anything, the last few spots will really come down to last minute campaigning, as proven by Andrea Riseborough who wasnโ€™t in contention at all until the last two weeks that Oscar voting closed.ย

I don't know how big is Emily Blunt's industry support when she has failed to get a single Oscar nomination MULTIPLE times

This is the most widely seen performance of hers. If not now, when (she'd have to do even more of an Oscar bait biopic than this for a lead Oscar nom)?

She will get nominated for sure but at this point I don't how much supportive they are for a "surprise" win

Rooting for an All Of Us Strangers sweep :clap3:ย I can already tell BAFTA will give it plenty of nominations. I just want at the very least an Adapted Screenplay Oscar nom though it deserves much more.ย

I feel like Blunt's chances are underestimated. She's in a box office juggernaut BP-BD-BA frontrunner. She's getting nominated.

Blunt is Dunst 2.0 except with a worse role. Finally get an easy nom for a major BP player, but not even close to a win.ย
