b/c he should do more tenets and interstellars instead?

havent said that but based on the examples mentioned his notion of baity war movies getting him BD/BP is misguided

but if he'd do something on the level of TDR or Inception he'd have a better chance

Oppenheimer looks strong but I'm afraid it'll be this year's Amsterdam.

it's been 20 years since an animated winner didn't have a whiteman director.

Can Miyazaki break the streak and join himself?

Yes, because at a time of heightened global conflict, everyone wants to sit in a theater for 3 hours and watch Cillian Murphy creating an atomic bomb while Nolan's sound design makes you question what's happening.

Yes because that stopped works like Nalvany and All Quiet from having great success this season.

I feel like Oppenheimer will be like Dunkirk, it will get some cute tech noms but that’s it.

Now that we've had a foreign-language film and a sci-fi film win Best Picture, I kinda want the Academy to embrace animation next for the big awards, at least for nominations across the board.

Imagine how amazing it'd be to have Miyazaki win Best Director… if any animation director deserves it, it's him.

Looking forward Miss Anne Hathaway's performance in EILEEN. Her performance received nothing but rave reviews so far.

I sadly think Cate is gonna have to wait a while now, if she ever even wins a 3rd one.

Tar is an all-time great performance and she was denied, she campaigned hard for it too (way harder than she ever did)

Probably best for her to lay low a bit and just keep putting in great performances even if they're not given the time of day due to inevitable comparisons with Tar

She is definitely winning a 3rd. I have a feeling she will win an unexpected Oscar she barely campaigns for a la McDormand with Nomadland.

BTW Saint Blanchett is out here advising the new winners and giving excellent advice :jonny2: https://apple.news/A-AX5YnGAQFyd1qGZesfcYA

His directing in the first Elizabeth was lowkey so good. That BAFTA nom was very deserved
