kinda eye-raising that they not only moved lily down to supporting, but ranked her 3rd there.

wow at the female dominance. rachel mcadams still a longshot, but it'd be a fun nom that'd be pretty different for ampas.

supporting actress, ny+la+nbr:

Meryl Streep, winner

Linda Hunt, winner

Anjelica Huston, winner

Dianne Wiest, winner

Amy Ryan, loser

Penelope Cruz, winner

Regina King, winner

6/7. And unlike Ryan, Randolph won’t be a solo nominee. Heavy frontrunner atm.

Maybe Randolph's fellow recurring co-star on The Idol, Miss Jennie, can break through next!

Rooting for Rachel McAdams, Greta Lee, Emily Blunt, Emma Stone and Natalie Portman. Women did amazing this year. Also an amazing year for movies, so stacked!!!

Bradley also hopefully continues momentum and gets that Oscar. Cillian would be my super close second but I really hope Bradley can pull through.

Is The Color Purple no longer in contention then? I don’t see it being nominated in these smaller critic groups.

comedy/musical movie actress has the obvious 5

and then an acclaimed film so tiny that the lead's not even in the top 22 on gold derby.

The Color Purple missed Musical/Comedy. This is where I thought surely it would get nominated.

Golden Globe noms are so silly and pointless now that they upgraded it to 6 slots. :rip:
