Well damn, Christopher Abbott really gives Poor Things a new jolt in the last 20 minutes. But he is always amazing so shouldn't come as a surprise.

He or Dafoe should be up for Supporting Actor, not Ruffalo.

its funny cuz Dafoe seems to specialize in getting nominated for films that the academy ignores otherwise, after Florida project/at eternity's gate; while shadow of the vampire just got makeup along with Dafoe.

sorta like Jessica Lange with 4/6 noms: country, sweet dreams, music box, blue sky.

Just finished The Zone of Interest rewatch and I don’t mind it as much as I did when I first saw it. Still doesn’t do much for me. I think these types of no plot films (like Nomadland) are things I need to watch at home than in theaters.

Rewatching Blue Valentine now. Michelle's performance ages like fine wine. Yup, she was robbed of Oscar for that performance. Don't @ me :suburban:

Also, I still can't get over the fact that Michelle was ROBBED at gunpoint for Manchester by the Sea :suburban:

Viola's performance and category fraud in Fences ages like milk :suburban:

Visual Effects isn’t too solidified yet me thinks, though I’m going into it expecting The Creator

i'm inclined to think Michelle williams was also (a distant) runner-up for 2005 too.

I need Emma to prove herself as a versatile actress and gets out from her comfort zone. Perhaps she should star as a long suffering wife in a drama movie next or as a monster like Charlize Theron in Monster. Only then she deserves that second Oscar :suburban:

And then she fraud herself to lose that oscar for The Fabelmans.

She can easily snatch that Oscar if she went for supporting instead of lead.

35% is lead

Michelle being in supporting would have been the fraud, its like saying Chastain was supporting in zero dark thirty or theron was supporting for bombshell

Only Oscar newbies pretending to be supporting is acceptableish since they never know if its their only chance ever

Jaime Lee could still win Oscar even if Michelle went supporting last year :suburban:

Tbh, she didn't deserve to get nominated for that cheap Spielberg's movie.

Michelle was giving an SNL level performance, she just got nominated because she was playing Spielberg's mom. :suburban:
