Almodusa Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 That’s cool that they’re brining that presentation format back. I hope they continue showing graphics of the nominees in the background when categories are presented followed by the winner on all screens like they did last year. I loved it. 1
Konril Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Poor Things now on VOD, just saw it. Fellow Asian Emi Li is just astounding, her range >>> This movie deserved all the awards. I've seen 9/10 (only lacking Maestro) and these are a great group of Best Picture contenders. Poor Things might be my fave. I'm now a Baxter and Voyter truther
hausofdave Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 when Oppenheimer isn't first choice, its almost always the 2nd choice of voters. And that's why it'll cross the line first because the first choice (if not Oppy) would be so muddled up and distributed. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/academy-voter-shares-oscar-votes-1235837796/
playboi Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 (edited) I just watched Poor Things and I can't believe Emma is predicted to with this I feel like the cinematography/writing completely auras the acting. If anything Mark Ruffalo had the best performance. Sandrallah remains the rightful winner Edited February 28, 2024 by playboi 2 1

McNulty Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Tony McNamara gave us The Favourite, The Great and Poor Things back-to-back-to-back and the Oscars and Emmys paid him dust. Tragic 1

RunBoyRun Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Emma Stone was AMAZING in Poor Things. However.... I doubt she'll win. Gladstone has a way more traditional Oscar type role. (No shade.) Emma's is maybe a bit too out there for them. Plus, politics. It would make history. For the second year in a row for the Oscar's. No way they will pass that up. Both deserving of winning by the way. 1
Donquizote Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Queen Kate Winslet cried after watching Lily in Killers. I think we know who she's going to vote for

Both deserving of winning by the way. the movie is more traditional oscar bait. but the role of suffering supporting wife actually is tons more likely to win in supporting. anywho, the top 2 in screentime for each actress nominated film, per screentimecentral: Emma Stone - 1:37:19 (68.77%) Mark Ruffalo - 31:07 (21.99%) = 213% more than the runner up Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall) - 1:14:39 / 49.25% Milo Machado Graner - 47:43 / 31.48% = 56% more than the runner up Annette Bening (Nyad) - 1:20:21 / 66.32% Jodie Foster (Nyad) - 1:00:16 / 49.75% = 33% more than the runner up Bradley Cooper (Maestro) - 1:32:57 / 70.83% Carey Mulligan (Maestro) - 1:04:15 / 48.96% = Brad 45% more Leonardo DiCaprio - 1:49:59 / 53.38% Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) - 56:13 / 27.29% = Leo 96% more Emma definitely dominates her movie much more than the others.
