Poor Things itself wouldn't have worked with honestly any other actress because of the wild changes in tone and physicality. If you mean a "versatile" performance has to be screaming and shedding tears then Lily doesn't deserve it either as she gave an (excellent) subtle performance. Edited February 25 by Life Savers 4
Hector Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Love that Gladstone, Pedro Pascal, and Elizabeth Debicki all upset tonight The awards show as a whole slayed, love Streisand's speech too. 2
Donquizote Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Lily's speech was everything. Just right in time when AMPAS members are voting
X~MoviePoP Posted February 25 Posted February 25 For the love of god i wish someone would challenge divine in supporting actress. I hate a boring race.

Donquizote Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Crazy to think that Winslet, Blanchett, Lange and so many other legends have only ONE Best Actress Oscar while Emma is gunning for second this year Glenn Close, Bening, and Adams have none. It might turn off some voters me thinks 1

hausofdave Posted February 25 Posted February 25 difference w Gladstone is that at least Killers has visibility and is liked by the Academy, The Wife was a no1curr film carried by narrative that could only drive Close so far 1
Leptine Posted February 25 Posted February 25 28 minutes ago, Green said: So Lily is the new frontrunner It's definitely a 50/50 race. Both have their pro-cons. Stone would have won easily this if she wasn't a winner already, meanwhile bigger issue of Gladstone is her role being basically supporting with a more subtle performance compared to Stone, it's hard to predict who is going to pull the win, I think the difference in votes will be minimal.

Hector Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) Awards season continues later today with the Independent Spirit Awards streaming on YouTube at 4:55 PM ET / 1:55 PM ET: Da'Vine will continue her sweep winning Supporting Performance tomorrow and I see Past Lives or American Fiction winning Feature with either Jeffrey Wright, Andrew Scott, or Greta Lee winning lead performance (hopefully). Donquizote Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Perhaps Bradley should call Gaga to star with him in The Way We Were remake for that Oscar
WildAmerican Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Show seemed boring glad i was doing something else instead
