Mmmm. Don't know if it's a race.

Still would be over the moon if Lily wins. Some people tend to trash her performance for some idiotic reason, but she was MAJESTIC.

I see Emma still favored but fun to have one of the four acting cats still a race since Giamatti is done now.

to think both Blanchett & Emi Li would've easily swept in '22

Yeah, this would be the only reason.

Haven't watched Poor Things yet tho. Sadly.

Lily will be the second actress to win Best Actress Oscar without BAFTA nomination since Chastain :suburban:

Quite problematic me thinks if Emma won second Best Actress Oscar and she has yet to get nominated for Best Actress (Drama) at Globes :suburban:

In '98/'99, both the BAFTA and the CCA went to Blanchett. The SAG went to Paltrow. Gwyneth won the Oscar.

In '22/'23, both the BAFTA and the CCA went to Blanchett. The SAG went to Michelle Yeoh. Michelle won the Oscar.

In '23/'24, both the BAFTA and the CCA went to Stone. The SAG went to Lily. Oscar ????

Blanchett being stooped twice :khalyan2:

Comedic performances are less worthy?

The way Lily winning has made the Oscar race somewhat interesting again since the other categories feel like boring dead locks.

She has to prove herself as a versatile actress first before winning second Oscar :suburban:

All those Paul/Emma predictions :bibliahh:

Globe+SAG without Oscar win for Best Actress in recent memory:

Glenn Close

And rumor said she's unlikeable among AMPAS members and she didn't win any single critic award.  :suburban:

I'm sure AMPAS members won't have a problem to vote for Lily, considering she won many critics awards and her film is a lot stronger than The Wife.
