The whole dry, calm direction kinda felt forced and.. gimmicky? Idk. I didn't find it brilliant. It's one of those films where you can appreciate the technical choices and elements but never actually want to see again 1

He still 100% confident that Danielle Brooks and Bradley will finally win Oscar At this rate I think he is just trolling Has something like that ever happened? Where one actor wins everywhere else but the Oscar's?

Lovesong Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I would love for Paul Giamatti to win but sadly it’s not happening. But Cillian, Lily, RDJ, and Da’Vine deserve (if that’s the winners). Glad more subtle roles getting recognition. Oh and Bradley not winning Oscar anytime soon, if not decades from now. That fake nose nonsense movie completely ruined his standing and goodwill from ASIB, and showed how desperate he is. Hollywood doesn’t like desperate.
Liafen Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Fake nose led to an Oscar win for Kidman though (might even be a conscious choice because of that on Bradley's part) he's not getting it because 1) the movie is just not that good 2) the whole thing reeks of baity desperation. he turned many people off with the campaign this time around.
Hector Posted February 23 Posted February 23 2 hours ago, McNulty said: Russell Crowe won BAFTA, GG, CC and SAG for A Beautiful Mind but lost to Denzel at the Oscars This incident probably turned many voters off: In 2002, Crowe personally apologized for yelling at a BAFTA Awards producer in a storage closet after his recitation of a poem during his acceptance speech for his Best Actor win for A Beautiful Mind was cut for time. The Sun reported that the Australian celebrity slammed Mr Gerrie against the wall in a storage room in London's Grosvenor Hotel and let rip with a foul-mouthed tirade, calling him a "c***" and a "motherf*****". Mr Gerrie was apparently warned by rock legend Sting, a friend of Crowe's, that the actor was looking for revenge, according to today's Sun. Crowe's minders then escorted the bemused director into a sideroom, where the star was waiting for him. The doors were shut and the actor delivered his extraordinary rant while his security men stood guard. "I don't give a f*** who you are. Who on earth had the f***ing audacity to take out the Best Actor's poem? You f***ing piece of ****. I'll make sure you never work in Hollywood," he said. Crowe was alleged to have stood inches away from Mr Gerrie and jabbed his finger's repeatedly in the director's chest, before kicking three chairs across the room and storming out. 1

Bears01 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 So I’ve been tuned out all awards season. Is it looking like it’s Daddy Nolan’s year?
QueenofCopyPaste Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Theyre going on FULL PROMO Edited February 24 by QueenofCopyPaste
Donquizote Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Less than 24 hours for SAG This year they will honor Queen Streisand
Donquizote Posted February 24 Posted February 24 SAG+BAFTA combo that lost Oscar: Kate Winslet Annette Benning Russel Crowe Daniel Day Lewis
Liafen Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Ahh I see the Queen of Defenestration is not going down without a fight Very calculated with the timing, it's a smart choice to push now when voters could get 'bored' with one winner everywhere else and vote for their passion picks (a la Hopkins)
Liafen Posted February 24 Posted February 24 If Anette indeed wins that is beneficial for Hüller since she might siphon voters away from Stone but not Hüller who has the international blo-- okay I'll stop it
Donquizote Posted February 24 Posted February 24 History will repeat itself. Shouty Anette wins SAG, but lose Oscar again for the better performance
WildAmerican Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 SAG tonight but i won't even be able to watch maybe I'll try ti avoid the winners and watch later, but that'll be impossible
Hector Posted February 24 Posted February 24 People Magazine & Entertainment Weekly begin their red carpet coverage at 6PM ET/3 PM PT (while Tan France & Project Runway's Elaine Welteroth start Netflix's red carpet coverage an hour later at 7 PM ET/ 4PM PT with the event itself starting at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on Netflix):
Donquizote Posted February 24 Posted February 24 My Final SAG prediction. I really hope for a mess tonight Actor: Paul Giamatti Actress: Anette Bening Supporting Actor: RDJ Supporting Actress: Randolph
QueenofCopyPaste Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Anette's performance in American Beauty btw >>>> Sandra Hüller's French in her Cesar Best Actress is AMAZING
hausofdave Posted February 24 Posted February 24 since 2004 Bening has had the dubious honor of being the only actor with a film Globe, SAG and BAFTA w/o ever winning the Oscar
