ALittleGauche Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I, too, saw Zone of Interest recently and enjoyed it very much. Sandra Hüller queen of Auschwitz ate. She also had another very adorable dog co-star. 1
Life Savers Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I didn't love The Zone of Interest, but legend Huller was iconic in it too. Actress of the year overall, I fear.
hausofdave Posted February 6 Posted February 6 after they let TÁR, Banshees, Elvis, and Fabelmans pull a donut last year, I don’t think rewarding Gladstone as to not let Killers go home empty-handed would be a factor in her winning. In fact, the Academy’s apathy for the film unfortunately constitutes a weakness for Lily here
QueenofCopyPaste Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Finally watched Anatomy of a Fall on the BIG SCREEN because my theatre is doing an Oscar nom movie runs this month The way Sandra slays the whole entire courtroom scene speaking and switching between English and French while displaying a fluctuation of emotions never fails to get me

QueenofCopyPaste Posted February 6 Posted February 6 ICONIC SCENE BEHAVIOUR from Ms. Sandra from Oscar nominated Toni Erdmann film way back 2016

Rotunda Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Saw American Fiction this past weekend. It was good but I don’t know if it was great? I dont think it covers any new ground that hasn’t already been highlighted in the other major Black Satire works of the past 10 years, nor do I think it necessarily stands out that much comedy-wise. I found myself predicting a lot of jokes before they were made. It’s very well acted though, and I think if it’s your first foray into the topic you’d like it. 2

Idk why people here didn't like her performance compared to the others this year It's not that people didn't like it. She's just missing for a whole chunk of the movie. Practically disappears in the second part.
LastKiss Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Just like white Michelle last year, Miss Lily would've SWEPT the supporting actress category BUT they really said NO THANK YOU Edited February 6 by LastKiss

Butters Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Hmm I haven't counted the screentime minutes but Lily didn't feel like a supporting role to me at all Maybe because she's so central to the plot and is just a killer actress in general.
Konril Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I still can't at Babylon losing Production Design and Score. Voodoo Mama >>> 1

Konril Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Will Moana 2 get Lin Manuel Miranda that elusive Oscar for him to finally EGOT? Them not submitting We Don't Talk About Bruno was a huge mistake. 1

Them not submitting We Don't Talk About Bruno was a huge mistake. Apparently he isn’t doing songs for Moana 2. Also, the Original Song submission deadline was before Encanto even came out in theaters, no one knew that song would blow up. When asked about it after, he said Dos Oruguitas embodied the message of the movie while WDTAB was for one character’s arc
