est. in 90s Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Yeah, the supporting actor clips are lowkey weak. The women's were better by comparison. I will say although Robert De Niro doesn't have an Oscar bait scene, his overall performance in KOTFM was what was great to me. He was absolutely infuriating. Now for Leading Actor clips, Paul's was the strongest imo. That small scene alone moved me the most out of them all and I haven't even seen The Holdovers yet. Could literally feel his frustration and emotion in that 15 second clip.
QueenofCopyPaste Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Sandra's clip better be the "you made us live here among the goats!, you complained of the life that you chose! You're not a victim! Not at all!" line

kayliah Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I hope Paul Giamatti wins. He was just brilliant without the need to overdo it a la Bradley. 1
Jglj Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I saw Anatomy of a Fall and it was really good, I hope it gets original screenplay or something. Killers of the Flower Moon was good but way too long, Lily Gladstone gave everything though, such a good performance.
Liafen Posted January 28 Posted January 28 speaking of clips, we all know The Legendary Miss Sandra Voyter's clip will be this

Life Savers Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I finally saw Anatomy and I’m kind of rooting for Queen Sandra to upset
fridayteenage Posted January 29 Posted January 29 the last time someone won for an original role that was her hollywood breakthrough was, like, 1966.
hausofdave Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Blanchett's Lydia Tár would have cleaned up this year with far more ease imo 1

Liafen Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hüller still has a route to win and that's not the delulu little voyster speaking in me
Eóghan Posted January 29 Posted January 29 honestly I wouldn't be surprised if 'huller' pulls an upset just because she has the other Best Picture nominee 'zone of interest' as a locomotive. it's like double visibility but to me legendary chinese-hawaiian actress 'emma stone' still has it on lock
Liafen Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Yeah Miss Hüller massively benefits from two pics in the race, each with five noms, and her main vehicle is now basically unskippable with BP, BD, Editing/Screenplay noms (for the latter being the frontrunner). I just don’t see Emi Li being locked. Just because Lily missed BAFTA, she’s still a huge contender and the passion for her is bigger. I’d be happy with an Emi Li win but she just somehow would make an ‘uninteresting’ winner.

fridayteenage Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Screen time Carey Mulligan (Maestro) - 1:04:15 / 48.96% Sandra Hüller - 1:14:39 / 49.25% Jodie Foster (Nyad) - 1:00:16 / 49.75% jodie in a bigger chunk of her movie than 3 of the lead actress nominees. hmm. 1
