CaptainMusic Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Billie is 22, she will be just fine if she somehow loses an award she’s ALREADY won.

hausofdave Posted January 21 Posted January 21 It's Clayton, but he says Nolan, Scorsese and Payne come up the most in convos with voters, which make sense as the push from the American/DGA block, those 3 with two from the Euro block of Lanthimos/Triet/Glazer is prob what we end up with. https://variety.com/feature/2024-oscars-best-director-predictions-1235693412/ 1
Donquizote Posted January 21 Posted January 21 the fact that emma will be winning competitive again next year for another Lanthinomos movie
fridayteenage Posted January 21 Posted January 21 so far lanthimos's 2 movies which went over big were when he didn't make an original story. i don't think kinds of kindness will be so big.

Donquizote Posted January 22 Posted January 22 No Guts, No Glory: The Boy and The Heron gets into BP Margot Robbie snubbed Claire Foy gets nominated for BSA Sandar Huller gets nominated for BA and BSA. 1
WildAmerican Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 (edited) my bold predictions: Melton gets in. Margot/Greta Gerwig OUT of Actress/Direcotr but Barbie eventually wins Screenplay. Anatomy/Zone overperform. Sessa/Payne get in. Poor Things misses completely on Supporting Actor but gets Director. Edited January 22 by WildAmerican
ALittleGauche Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Just saw Maestro which was a chore to watch. Even writing this post feels so uninspired. The movie itself had some impressive technical feats, like Bradley’s conducting, makeup, and delivery of lines, Carey’s acting, and the fun transitional shots. But it’s hard to feel passionate about something like this. Who’s actually the intended audience for this? It feels self-indulgent and check-boxy (old-timey, gay, biopic, transformational), without really having anything to convey. 2
Into The Void Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I've seen Saltburn and May December. What other movies available on streaming would yall recommend? And I really am not into period dramas or war type of movies
Donquizote Posted January 22 Posted January 22 In a perfect world, that cheap TAR movie should get snubbed for Best Actor, Director, and Picture. Carey was the only good thing of that movie

Konril Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I actually really, really liked RDJr. performance in Oppenheimer. If Sessa can't win, Downey is perfectly serviceable. Also I love love love EEAAO, but any future BSActress is better than JLC. Da'Vine already washes her anyway.

Mordecai Posted January 22 Posted January 22 After the mess that was Andrea Riseborough last year I said I never wanted something like that to happen again but I will gag and would love to see AUNJANUE ELLIS-TAYLOR on my screen tomorrow 2
Donquizote Posted January 22 Posted January 22 To Ellis is getting nominated me thinks. Ellis is an anagram for Leslie

Oh yeah I agree with you I don't see it happening, but on the off chance it did I'd laugh my ass off
