enchanted0 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Meanwhile Spotify launches tiktok lite AM remains superior, always
ScorpiosGroove Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 they are late as usual classical music specific apps have been a thing for years
pimmelfratze Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Why is a separate app necessary? Can someone explain?

igninton Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 They should start working on their disastrous playlists if they want to keep up with Spotify. I've been using AM since 2015 but I'm considering moving to Spotify because playlists on Spotify are just another experience that you simply cannot have on AM.
HEAVYONIT Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 This is actually a dope idea 2 minutes ago, igninton said: I've been using AM since 2015 but I'm considering moving to Spotify because playlists on Spotify are just another experience that you simply cannot have on AM. Yeah, I pay for both but only because the playlists on Spotify are infinitely better than AM. I have several Apple products so AM is just more convenient for me but I pay for Spotify too just for the playlists.

Classical music isn’t structured the same way as popular/modern music. The album/EP system doesn’t usually align well with historical works nor do the title sequences. Searching for classical music in the current music app is also a complete mess as there are hundreds of covers for every piece.

Do you think this app it's gonna have like the kind of research to catalogate the music of every composer in a less casual way?. I don't know.. i think as almost everything apple is just marketing...most of classical listeners are interested only in classical music so they could be attracted to an app where you know you find only classical musical, even if then it's just similar to the classical section in every other app. Edited March 9, 2023 by vale9001
Mania Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I'll try it since it's free for AM users but hopefully they keep it updated since it's in the App Store and don't abandon it.
Kingpin Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Do they have a proper add to queue system for AM yet??

This will resemble the Apple Music app for UI consistency, but the actual experience looks to be quite different based on the screenshots (which makes sense). I don’t see this as a marketing move because Apple already owns the classical demographic and invested too much time and money for this to be abandoned post launch. Worth mentioning a lot of Apple employees and designers are classical fans, so it’s in their own interest to commit to this long term.
Feanor Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I absolutely adore classical music and have been meaning to get even deeper into it, but have always been hesitant with how convoluted and difficult to search for it is on Apple Music, so I'll be downloading and using this app from day 1.
