I think the fact that DFY was already a hit in Canada (back in 2017) hurt its chances for #1. Canada CHR was hesitant to give this a 2nd run. (The same thing is happening right now with Sure Thing on US Urban radio.)

Yes, station are playing it once a day only. But I agree with them. I enjoyed this song in 2017/2018. I am fine now with it's recurrent status. 

 

On the other hand songs like Bloody Mary which are getting their first real shot at hits, I am here for that.
