LustSpell Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 The fact he shredded his own albums charting because of making a greatest hits compilation Stupid
family.guy123 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 So did a song not even on the album contribute to this?

The album is doing streaming numbers without the remix Yesterday USA streams 43. Die For You = 725k 104. Starboy = 402k 134. Stargirl Interlude = 343k The remix help the album return to the Top 10, but the Starboy streams had been amazing this last months
SoldierofLove Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Wait, what? How? I thought the streams for Die For You were all going towards The Highlights. The other tracks are doing big numbers too?
ALA Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 The rule should just be the compilation should be based on pure sales too messy

This is kinda confusing, tbh. 40 minutes ago, SoldierofLove said: Wait, what? How? I thought the streams for Die For You were all going towards The Highlights. Starboy was already at #14 last week and many tracks are doing well on stream, it was obvious that it would "win".

There’s been so many weeks where Starboy/AH freefalls while TH is top 10 and then the reverse happens the week after

I didn’t know the rule is specific to pure sales. I thought it was overall performance including streams. Either way, his team was a mess for deciding to release The Highlights.
NumbSoul Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 I'm sorry, but the rules they have for multiple albums sharing the same song are stupid... What if they just measured how many of the songs' streams come from each album and use only that towards that albums stats/charting power? I guess that's not the easiest to measure, but I think they have a way of checking how many streams for a song come from playlists, so I think it should be doable for albums too.
Feanor Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 This Greatest hits rule is so stupid. The streams of songs should simply count for the original album and that's it.
Squall Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 So Die For You doesn’t count for The Hightlights anymore? This is such a mess honestly

Machete Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Just now, Squall said: So why did Starboy have more pure sales this week? It’s quite random I mean The Higlights and Starboy both usually sell in the 500-800 range weekly so it's not hard for Starboy to beat it occasionally. It being based off pure sales is so messy for that reason The albums go back and forth like every other week. The Highlights BB200 chart run shows this:

For a Greatest hits it should only count the pure sales of the album and the SPS of the new songs included in the GH. For example Raise your glass and Fukin' Perfect's SPS can count for P!nk's Greatest Hits album but the rest of the songs should count for their original studio albums.
