Scars Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 The Weeknd, by far. Bryson Tiller was very popular during that 2015-2016 R&B era though. "Don't" is a classic!
bijonse Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Armani this is so facetious like you know damn well the trilogy is a mixtape from like 2011. no it’s not charting as high as trapsoul, but it’s produced a bunch of weeknd clones and is thus more influential while Bryson tiller came and went

SweetTalker Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 This is the weirdest success stanning thread i’ve seen in a while. trilogy >>>>
Relampago. Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) This is kind of a joke cause Trilogy is probably one of the most influential albums of the decade even outside of RnB. Abel was a part of the shift into moodier music, which gave way to a lot of huge blockbuster albums like Take Care, Oxymoron, 20/20, and even ones like Anti and Beyoncé. Artists like Black Atlass, 6lack, Brent Faiyaz, DVSN, Travis Scott and more all have Abel to thank for paving the way for their music. He’s basically the Lana to these artists’ Olivia, Billie, Lorde, etc. I’m not sure what Tiller has to say other than Don’t which was huge, but is mostly good for a throwback. Wild Thoughts is good too I guess. Rih power. Edited March 6, 2023 by Relampago.

Wild Thoughts is good too I guess. Rih power. Are we really about to pretend Don't is the only song being consumed on Trapsoul? Both Exchange & Right My Wrongs had more daily streams than Wild Thots before the Superbowl Wild Thots wasnt even his top female collab in daily/recurrent streams. Both his songs with H.E.R & Summer Walker were doing more recurrent. Wild Thots was struggling to break 200k daily on Spotify, a forgotten 2017 smash hit Anyways, this discussion cant be taken seriously by mostly twinks on here that havent even listened to either projects and are just voting Abel by Pop association
