High Road was basically a collection of demos from the lead up to Rainbow and really took a back peddle on the artistry she built with Rainbow. There’s a difference between returning to your roots vs regressing to your roots. I don’t mind her doing pop but it has to be good. I’m really not hyped for this despite checking for her constantly in the lead up to High Road.

It's most likely safe to assume it will be a departure from her previous sound(s) in some ways. She has worked with many people she has never worked with before (Rick Rubin, Hudson Mohawke, kennedi, Heavymellow, etc.), ditched Wrabel for this era and the snippets and leaks we already have from this era (Every Heartbeat, Nothing's Sacred, Happiness) sound different from her previous material.
