The last R&B/hip-hop album with at least 10 weeks atop the list was Drake’s Views, which 13 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 (May 21-Oct. 8, 2016). SOS has the most weeks at No. 1 for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman, or an R&B album by a woman, since Mariah Carey’s self-titled debut spent 11 weeks, all consecutively, at No. 1 in 1991. (Honorable mention to the Whitney Houston-led soundtrack to The Bodyguard, which logged 20 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 in 1992-93. The 12-track album has six songs by Houston and six songs by other artists.) SOS has the most weeks at No. 1 for any R&B album since The Bodyguard’s 20-week reign. (R&B/hip-hop and R&B albums are defined as those that have hit or are eligible for Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R&B Albums charts, respectively.)

Next week SZA will match Mariah's debut  :jonny6:

I thought SOS cleared 2 million already. Weird how albums, Morgan’s, linger in the top 10 for weeks, but the sales are low. I thought Morgan would be on his way to Diamond by now.

It cleared with pre-release copies (Good Days, I Hate U and Shirt’s first two weeks). If she includes Hit Different for the Deluxe it’s an extra amount of copies

Billboard 200: #1(=) @sza, SOS 87,000 (1,488,000 units since release). *tenth week at #1*

Ten weeks at #1 and still hasn't passed Midnights opening week. :omg:

Very impressive run, though. Hopefully it has some steam left to challenge Morgan in the coming weeks...

It’s not an even fair comparison though

p!nk not even opening with 100k these days

Well considering she's out charting and outselling half her contemporaries i think them numbers are great.

OT: SZA's domination is really unexpected tbh, 10 weeks for a black woman hasnt been seen in more than 30 years. P!nk #2 and nearly 75k 20 years into her career is amazing period- inb4 she suffers a huge drop the basic haters try to discredit while stanning struggle pop stars with a career not even a quarter as long.

Great for P!nk, rose all week.

It's too bad SNL was off last Saturday, she probably could've got the #1 with it. Too bad this album doesn't have a hit on it.

I hope SZA can tie Mariah's 11 weeks

Right. She was outselling all her peers in the 00s and 10s. She was also the second/third biggest hit maker only behind Rihanna and Katy (Gaga has bigger hits but pink had more hits). H2BH and Trustfall are her first albums since the early 00s that she didn’t have a big hit. What about us was a ww hit while her peers were struggling to even chart.

6th week for "Flowers", what a smash you have Miley! :clap3: What has always surprised is the consistency on big sales.

"Boy's a liar" dominating streaming and already Top 3, it's definetely coming.

Chart is stagnant btw

Which is why I'm glad that Morgan is releasing his album on Friday. The charts are long overdue for a cleansing.

SZA has yet to release physical copies of the album + this doesn't include the pre-release units :dies:
