yamiyuuuu Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 This is huge Didn't see this one coming though, her previous album didn't do that good even though she was already scoring huge hits, what happened?
Sscorpionn Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 The fact a Latina and a Korean boy band are the only artists who managed to unseat SZA while the likes of P!nk and Sam Smith failed anyway, congrats to her on making music history

That combined with the fact that there are 70 million latinos living in the US... the result is Latin music being more popular than ever in the US I don't live in the US so I'm gonna be completely unfiltered and possibly ignorant: are Latinos who live in the US the only ones who listen to these Latin artists who have broken into the American market? I find it hard to believe that Bad Bunny had such a massive album aided by one demographic no matter how big it might be. There's no way white, black and asian americans are not at least familiar with his music.

Mostly yes but Latinos also have massive cultural influence in many major cities so there’s bound to be some non-Latinos who are also familiar with him and his music. People tend to underestimate the Latino pop in the US and how extremely widespread it really is.
starsailor Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I love to see latin culture becoming bigger and bigger! Not exactly a Karol G stan, I probably know like 2 or 3 songs, but Provenza alone deserves that! Go Karol!!
