Asparagus Spears Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Just finished watching episode 1 and 2. What a wild ride. From seeing Chloe getting her **** on to Paris jackson literally mentioning how she’s “half black”… to literally almost every scene having something to do with beyonce. This series is truly incredible. Give Dre all the awards
Kiss It Better Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 just finished this, this is so good but why is the ending like that? i'm confused
FameFatale Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Spoiler After she left limping her adoptive parents house in ep 5 and then a big jump to Dre/Tony's transition threw me for a loop. I would love like 4 more episodes between to bring it to that point instead of the mock documentary.

The text at the end says the investigator is pushing for Dre's arrest, different PDs are opening investigations against her and finally the public is asked for information that would lead to her arrest. E7 is then a regular continuation of E5. I thought the investigator lady was hilarious and made that episode bearable but overall it was entirely useless to the plot. What was the purpose of showing her connecting dots that didn't need connecting because we literally saw everything happening before earlier on? It felt like they really wanted to go all out with the meta aspect for the sake of it even though it didn't fit naturally and wasn't clever in the slightest. I'd have much preferred another regular episode instead. Why do I remember them saying during the true crime episode that she was caught after jumping on stage at the Ni’jah concert. I’ll have to re-watch. I’ll probably binge the entire thing again over the weekend to see what details I missed the first time around.

They had her mugshot so she def was caught
publikcitizen Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 The ending was confusing. Was she imagining it?
Katamari Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Watching now Chloe’s character is lowkey trifling
Katamari Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 All of the beyonce references I wonder if this is boosting her discog tbh we love indirect promo!
Katamari Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Not her sounding like Bey too they betta drag stan culture
Machete Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Show was gimmicky tbh. They did nothing with the stan concept besides the face-value "stanning can be toxic xD". There was way more they could've explored

V$. Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 The ending... Episode 6>>> I love how different this is!
ALA Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Hm... honestly not sure how I felt about this overall the meta reveal of episode 6 Billie is gonna be in movies I fear. She was great.
Scandalous Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 loved this a lot! agree that Billie really surprised me with her acting! hmmm yeah i thought it was obvious that the story ended with ep 6, and then ep 7 is just kinda Dre’s fantasy. that moment when we see Nai’Jah onstage and Marissa’s face is superimposed on her when she approaches Dre - i feel like the show is mainly about the grief left behind by not only Marissa’s death but Dre being mistreated and abandoned throughout her life, and it’s all kinda culminated into her obsession with Nai’Jah. the show is silly and OTT but it has a lot of important things to say 1
FreeXone Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 The main actress Dominique fish back is so good!!!!

Kiss It Better Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 so the ending is basically Spoiler everything was real until dre ran on stage, in real life she is actually arrested, when she was covering her face in the crowd and went to the car she is arrested, but in her fantasy she left the concert and becomes friend with Ni'jah and she looks like Marissa because the whole killing spree started when she felt guilty about not answering Marissa's calls and Ni'jah being the thing they bonded over and she justified all her murders over it

I thought it was pretty obvious the purpose of episode 6 was to show what was actually happening right up until that point. Clearly, the last scene was just what Dre was imagining when in reality we really got what truly happened based on what the detective showed us plus the footage of the concert. Fantastic show btw, very enjoyable with top-notch acting! I can definitely see various nominations for the actors in the upcoming award shows.
