gustavothehuman Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 #17 is higher than alleged global icon Lady Gaga, who also had collabs with Ariana and Blackpink + promoted the album. So yes, I am surprised the so-called local Beyoncé is outdoing certain girlies despite debuting a whole decade before them.

That it ranked higher than Chromatica despite Beyoncé being called local, Renaissance being released later into the year and with no high profile features, no videos, no performances to help generate interest? DAP Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Sounds like she’s in great company with Chromatica then Edited February 24, 2023 by DAP
bijonse Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 It’s higher than chromatica with a release later in the year and no Oreo/jockstrap/blackpink/ariana grande/“the bodyguard sized” ASIB predecessor so yes I’m surprised

unclefloprry Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 The way ATRL called 30 an underperformance but treated Renaissance like a big comeback all this time just for this
Armani? Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Billboard 200 Year End #21 RENAISSANCE But ATRL told me Beyonce was local?
Chika Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Still higher than chromatica, and with a full stadium tour to boot. I can see why you're pressed
Dreajae Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 No. Virtually every album above it had more time to collect total units or the pure sales were extremely front loaded. #17 when it continues to sell and stream at a steady and consistent pace in 2023 is fine. There will be a tour and visuals as well.
Henry Torres Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 What a shame tbh Renaissance is her best album

Trent W Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 No one drags Gaga as hard as the monsters OT: Still very impressive all things considered
Holiest Dreams Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 I mean it’s still #17, which is higher than plenty of albums, it could’ve been worse

But Renaissance has a #1 solo hit and a bigger global smash than any Chromatica song according to the behives + has chart longevity... only to finish 1 position higher?
