gardendreams Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 I cried, too much. I thought a lot about my mom's experience, my past experiences and the lives I've imagined. It's a movie that nothing much happens but everything does
JungleJuice Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) I walked out cause it was not in English. But I was wondering if it later turned Into English after I walked out. Does it 🤔 Edited August 8, 2023 by JungleJuice 1

genetic fail Posted August 22, 2023 Author Posted August 22, 2023 I really liked this although I feel it may have been a little bit overhyped? Or maybe it has something to do with relatability. I don’t really have a TOTGA by Katy Perry
ctlp27 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Loved that movie in theater at its release. My fav since Bones and all. Very simple yet completely perfect. It's rare to see a director that really master their first movie that well. No shot needs to be cut. 1
josesuxx Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 This was beautiful, ughhh the last 20 minutes or so were perfect

ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted August 30, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted August 30, 2023 I cried twice What a beautiful film.
ANTisocial Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 I just finished this, bawled during the ending

Does it 🤔 dead at this comment reading borderline racist -- this felt like a film version of Adele's 'Someone Like You' it's definitely a slow burn until the end. i can see how it might not be relatable to someone who doesn't have a childhood sweetheart like that lol
truthteller Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 (edited) i'm so sorry but Nora is a b**** for the first 60+ minutes straight and i can't stand that and not those awkward bilingual scene and them talking at the bar like the husband wasnt there... what is this cuckery it's a cute, intimate, smooth and delicate story but all the praise and hype just dont match... it's giving "Worst Person in the World" for me... superben Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 It's gonna screen at my local cinemas later this month So excited
Digitalism Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 I see some girls that don't understand subtle story telling here 2
flower moon Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Loved this. kinda wrecked me. i guess this is about a lot of things but if youre an immigrant youre probably gunna relate in some ways
Konril Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Ooooh those were some emotional last 20 minutes. As much as I loved Greta's sharpness in this, it was Teo Yoo's acting that grabbed me. You can tell his longingness for Na Young.
Hector Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Adore this film, I'm hoping it goes the distance this awards season. So far Best Picture & Original Screenplay look locked, but I really hope Greta makes it in for actress, adored her in this. 1
Chemist Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Finally got to watch it. Absolutely devastating. I cried the whole time cause I already expected how it was going to end, so every single thing they did made me sob.

I was a mess after, while on the train back home This is exactly how the movie is like. It's really a slow burn, but the wait to the end is super worth. The bar scene is insane and so intense, I could relate to both guys as I've been in similar situations The last scene too Will not spoil but the last 15 mins or so really wrecked me. Maybe because it's super relatable to me, from being an Asian immigrant and those mixed emotions Greta were feeling. It's just so good for me. I really hope this gets love at the Oscars. Maybe it could be like a CODA. 1
harwee Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I like it. Solid film. I think it may sneak in the BP category. I think it's a good sort of counterweight against the big and loud epics in contention. This is the quieter and more grounded type, although that lane is also stacked (such as American Fiction, Holdovers, etc).
