spotify is gaining more and more users. the recurrent streams for ribs are very very good. itll hit 1b for sure as more and more people discover it

Ribs timeline on Spotify:

 

Time from 2013 release to 100M plays = 6.2 yrs
Time from 100M to 200M = 1.2 yrs
Time from 200M to 300M = 11 months
Time from 300M to 400M = 9.5 months

 

If Ribs can keep getting another 100M every 10 months, or about 120M each year, then Lorde needs slightly less than 5 more years for 1 billion, with Ribs possibly passing 1 billion plays in late 2027, five years after it reached the 400 million mark.

 

Even if Ribs drops back to 100M plays each year, that would still mean the song passes 1 billion in late 2028.
