Bears01 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 It’s a pretty blatant violation of the 14th amendment, but still…..
Meev Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 It’s Texas, and I have seen Chinese US citizens supporting Trump online. Perhaps this would be the wake-up call for them.
GraceRandolph Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Time to cut off our Republican family members.

And not just based on race / identity, etc. We're seeing them invading privacy laws in some parts of the US, which has rankled even the idiot male demo. Obviously stuff like this is horrific, but how many times are we supposed to warn people?
family.guy123 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 This happened in Canada recently. Is it different than that?

Unless they update the law to not include legal Chinese American citizens, then yes. It’s unconstitutional, on top of a violation of congressional law called “The Fair Housing Act”
Mean Trees Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I guess the Falun Gong leaders are feeling pretty shtty right now, huh? All that agitation and lobbying for anti-''CCP'' nonsense in America and the West will just you and your members. Americans and Westerners probably don't even differentiate between you and ''other Chinese''.
Abel Minaj Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 They're not trying to ban Chinese Americans from buying property, they're trying to stop "citizens" of China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran from buying US land. I'm not necessarily against this, We're about to go to war with these countries.
Attitude Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 This isn't going to do anything to fix the housing market. American rental companies will just swoop in and continue hoarding properties and forcing people to continue renting.
Communion Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 So I guess that anti-China sinophobia DOES result in anti-Chinese sinophobia.
Horizon Flame Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 As stated above, it’s not Chinese-Americans, it’s citizens of China buying property in the US.

But in the US I do think it would violate the no discrimination on national origin unless it was made as a general "enemy of the US" prohibition so if this passes I see it will be struck down quickly.
Attitude Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 For what? So American companies can buy out more homes to rent out at high prices? It's the same thing.

This is a good bill if it allows Chinese-Americans to still purchase homes.

What do you call someone with Chinese citizenship due to regressive dual citizenship laws but has lived for multiple decades within the US?
J Legend X Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 I don't understand how some of these actions are seen as human and moral... like??? just like Tennessee declining HIV federal FREE funds... like ?? what kind of "Christian" can you be?
